“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-20

This verse is a challenging one. Often times it is easy for our lives to become unaligned with the Will of God. Our own passions and purposes like to drive the way of our souls. It is time we stop and reassess. What is driving the direction of our hearts? What do I do when I find my heart misaligned with God's? When we draw near, approaching the throne of grace in prayer, we are realigned in our intentions.

Last Monday, members and friends of Lakewood’s Men’s Group hit the green for a our Men's Group Golf Tournament, an annual tradition we are more than happy to bring back!

Over 60 golfers and 8 hole sponsors made their way through the course, celebrating their fellowship (and their competition), It was a lovely day for a golf tournament, and through this event, our Men's Group was able to raise money for our church outreach programs! Thank you to everyone who attended to make this a hole-in-one success! ⛳🙌

April showers bring May flowers, but what do May flowers bring?

Reminders of our God’s steadfast love for all of His creation.

Let’s be thankful today that while we get to participate in God’s work, He’s the one who brings things to completion. He cares for the flowers, He cares for you, and He will help you to grow!

The phrase, "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect", comes from the Bible, specifically Matthew 5:48 in the New Testament. In this verse, Jesus is teaching his disciples during the Sermon on the Mount, emphasizing the high standard of righteousness that God expects from His followers.

It's important to understand that Jesus isn't expecting human perfection in the sense of flawlessness, but rather a completeness or wholeness in our relationship with God and others. It's about striving towards moral and spiritual maturity, continually growing in love and righteousness.

On this day, we remember the coming of the Holy Spirit after Jesus’ resurrection. When the Spirit descended on the apostles, they received conviction and passion to share the gospel.

Let us pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to dwell with us, giving us boldness in bringing the message of salvation to all who we meet. 🙏
