December 31st

Church service - I plan on attending the first service and I like to sit on the walkway at the center of the church, I would love to have company. Hope to see some of you there. Note: I will leave a little early, I teach 5th grade 2nd hour LBS and need to get there to receive our students.

LBS - Bridging the Gap meets 2nd hour on Sunday, this is a good option to attend since there will not be evening LBS - instead we will be having a party!

News alert! The church is not going out to do home relief work this weekend! There is still a need to help at the faith center! Paul and I are going to go there at 9 AM to serve. See you there?

Hey BASICS join us this Saturday September 23 to volunteer for home relief!
Weekend Teams
Pastor Gregg has issued a call for our church to step up and serve those affected by Hurricane Harvey one weekend service project a month! You can join a team on Saturdays at 8a or Sundays at 2p — or both. Registration is not required! Simply come to the Oasis Courtyard at The Loop Campus at the appropriate time for Saturday or Sunday. At that time, you will be assigned a team. Service days on Saturday will end at 2p and on Sunday they will end at 7p. Please bring any tools you have as supplies are very limited.

Praying this post is finding you well. Here is an email from Chris at Impact for those who may need some assistance and for those who find themselves in a position to help.

If you need assistance or can volunteer to help, go to the following link - https://houstonsfirst.org/the-loop/lovefirst and fill out the appropriate form. We are going through the church, so even though the wording on the website may say contact your LBS leaders first, please fill out the form and the church will send that information to your LBS leader.

For those who can volunteer, please list Team Impact as the answer to the following question:
"Are you bringing a friend or family member to help? If so, list name and ages. Note: Volunteers need to be at least 13 years of age."

Additionally, here are several resources explaining steps to follow to request FEMA assistance and the documentation someone will need to file with their insurance companies - you'll want to file with FEMA as soon as possible so that you're not at the end of the queue.

http://harrisrecovery.org/ - Has links to FEMA, how to sort debris for Harris County residents, fraud preventions, and more.

https://katydisasterresponse.com - Has steps for cleanup, documentation of damage for insurance and FEMA - you'll need to scroll down to the "If My Home Floods" post.

Just a reminder that if your home or car has flooded and you need to file an insurance claim, the law for insurance changes as of September 1st, so you need to file a written request (fax or email work too) with your insurance company by tomorrow night - that filing deadline is extremely important. I have attached a form that you can submit to your insurance company.

Again, if you need assistance, please fill out the form at HFBC's LoveFirst website so we know your needs. If you don't have power or are unable to get to the online form, please contact your LBS leader directly so we know your needs.
