Topic: Spiritual Identification and Its Implications

There is a difference between identification and identity. Identification is about who you associate with, while identity is about who you are.
Spiritually, identification means choosing who you align yourself with—God or the world. True association with Jesus involves two important things:
1. Acceptance of Jesus
Before anyone can identify with Christ, they must first accept Him. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that anyone who is in Christ becomes a new creation. Acceptance is the beginning of a relationship with Jesus.

2. Godly Conduct
Accepting Jesus must be followed by living according to His teachings. Matthew 7:21–23 shows that outward religious activities alone do not prove a relationship with Christ. Our lifestyle must reflect Him.

Evidence of Identification with Jesus
• Identify with His death – Die to sin and the desires of the flesh (Romans 6:6).
• Identify with His resurrection– Live a transformed life that shows spiritual growth and change.
• Remain faithful through trials– Trust God and stand firm even during challenges.
Jesus does not accept divided loyalty. We can not serve Christ and continue living in disobedience.
True spiritual identification is seen not only in what we say but in how we live.
