Something new is here.

We’re excited to unveil a refreshed look for Open Door Houston.

Our new logo reflects the heart of who we are and the city we’re proud to serve — a bold, renewed visual identity rooted in hope, restoration, and our Christ-centered mission to serve those experiencing homelessness with dignity and compassion.

While you may notice an updated name and a refreshed brand, the heart of Open Door remains unchanged. We are committed to sharing the love of Jesus through help, healing, and hope, walking alongside people as lives are restored and futures are renewed.

This is more than a new look. It’s a reflection of where we are, where God is leading us, and the mission we remain called to carry forward.

Volunteer Appreciation!

One of our facilities volunteers stopped by recently to work on a few projects and brought along Aaron, one of our residents interested in pursuing a career in welding.

Christian took time out of his day to invest in Aaron sharing his knowledge, answering questions, and giving him a hands-on look at the trade. Moments like these remind us that transformation often happens through simple acts of mentorship and encouragement.

At Open Door, we believe in creating opportunities for growth, building relationships, and helping people discover their God-given potential. Thank you, Christian, for pouring into the next generation!

On October 8–9, Open Door is taking the conversation about homelessness beyond statistics and headlines with 24 hours of Conversations on a Bench.

For 24 hours, we’ll sit down with people from across our community to talk about homelessness, restoration, hope, and what it really takes to help someone move from the street toward a new life.

Because change starts when we’re willing to listen.
When we’re willing to learn.
And when we’re willing to get involved.

Yesterday, HUD and HHS unveiled a new toolkit designed to help cities and organizations across America pursue lasting solutions to homelessness putting a renewed emphasis on treatment first.

Open Door is being recognized as a featured program nationally, highlighting the work happening right here in Houston!

We know the path from homelessness to hope is possible and we’re grateful to be part of a growing movement focused on helping people find lasting restoration, not simply a place to sleep.

Open Door is looking for volunteers to help provide transportation for our clients—to appointments, classes, medication pick-ups, and other important stops along their journey.

And here’s the best part: you’re not just giving someone a ride—you’re giving them your time, encouragement, and a chance to feel supported!
