On Good Friday, we pause to remember the cross—
the sacrifice that made a way for us to be reconciled to God.

But the cross doesn’t just comfort us…
it also calls us to examine our lives.

📖 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…”
— Matthew 7:21 (NASB 1995)

This Sunday, we’ll walk through
The Demonstration & Danger of Spiritual Deception
and what it truly means to know Christ.

We’d love for you to join us for Resurrection Sunday.

“Every time you walk in sin, there is something about God you're saying you don't trust.”

In this message we unpack what it really means to trust God beyond just words.

Faith can’t flourish where self is still in control.
Growth in faith requires surrender — laying down our pride, our plans, and our desire to be at the center.

“Faith can’t flourish when you’re full of yourself. You’ve got to die to self to truly grow in faith.”

True faith grows when we see God rightly and ourselves rightly.

Instead of focusing on the trouble,
focus on who God is.

“The more your mind is on Him, the less circumstances can control you.”

We’re grateful to serve as the Houston host site for the 2026 Counseling Discipleship Training (CDT) with Expository Counseling Training Center this weekend.

This 30-hour Biblical Counseling Training is designed to equip believers to apply God’s Word to real-life struggles — offering Christ-centered hope in the midst of suffering, fear, anger, and more.

ECTC is a Certified Training Center with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), and completion of the Fundamentals Track fulfills the required training hours toward certification.

Training begins this Friday.

Join in person in Houston or attend virtually.

There is a difference between knowing about God and being transformed by Him.

The true knowledge of God is never meant to stay in our heads — it is meant to reshape our hearts, redirect our lives, and draw us into deeper obedience.

If the study of God does not lead to change, it has not rightly been understood.

Take a moment to reflect: Has what you’ve learned about God changed the way you live?

The worthy walk continues beyond the sermon.

As you reflect on Ephesians 4:1–3, ask yourself: How is God calling me to respond to the grace I’ve received? 📖

The church doesn’t just gather, we go. 💬

This weekend our COFBC family walked through the surrounding neighborhood and apartments to share the gospel, invite families to worship, and introduce our new daycare.

Pray that every seed planted would grow in hearts and homes for God’s glory. 🌱
