Our team recently attended the “Latin Women’s Initiative Membership Drive & Luncheon” in support of our dear friend Jackie Lynn Garcia.

After being diagnosed with a rare cancer in her early 30s, Jackie became a passionate advocate for adolescents and young adults with cancer. Her commitment to raising awareness, increasing representation, and helping others navigate a diagnosis at a young age continues to inspire us.

Congratulations to this year’s beneficiaries: BridgeYear, Finca Tres Robles- Small Paces, Prelude Music Foundation, The Rose, and Sunshine Kids Foundation.

With more than $2.5 million donated to local nonprofits since its inception, Latin Women's Initiative has grown into one of Houston’s leading Hispanic fundraising organizations. We thank LWI for continuing to provide financial and volunteer support to organizations serving Latin women and children throughout our community.

Thank you to George Connelly for having our team join community leaders and supporters at El Centro de Corazón "19th Annual Making a Difference Luncheon", celebrating 32 years of service to families throughout Houston’s East End.

The event featured, Patricia Velásquez as the Keynote Speaker who shared the extraordinary journey that led her from becoming the first Latina supermodel to appear on the covers of major fashion publications to an accomplished career as an actress, author, entrepreneur, and humanitarian.

Congratulations to Event Chair Maritza Gonzales, Community Leader Honoree Becky Reyes, Corporate Leader Honoree Amegy Bank, and the entire El Centro team for an afternoon that celebrated both the organization’s impact and the people helping move its mission forward.

We are honored to share that "A Sacred Choice" has received the "2026 Pinnacle Award" from the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston and South Texas, our second consecutive "Pinnacle Award"!

Presented through the "BBB Awards for Excellence", this honor recognizes businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout Greater Houston and South Texas for their commitment to quality, workplace culture, customer service, and ethical business practices.

Congratulations to Jennifer Salazar and the BBB team on an incredible event. Thank you also to our friend George Connelly for graciously having us at his table and helping make the afternoon even more memorable.

This October, I'll be riding in the "20th Anniversary Bike Around the Bay" event to raise money for the Galveston Bay Foundation and I need your help. This is more than just a bike ride. It's a chance to invest in something that truly matters, right here in our own backyard.

This organization provides environmental education to thousands of local students, restores oyster reefs and wetlands, improves water quality, and protects vital habitat in and around Galveston Bay. A donation of any amount will get me closer to my fundraising goal and will make a real difference for Galveston Bay, the largest estuary on the Texas coast.

Congratulations to Gulf Coast Blood on the grand opening of their new Advanced Therapies Facility in the Texas Medical Center.

The facility will provide specialized cellular collections that can support researchers, healthcare organizations, and industry partners developing and advancing innovative cell and gene therapies.

This month, the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce's "Leadership in Action: Navigating Board Service" luncheon brought together business leaders for a discussion on service and organizational stewardship.

The conversation explored the responsibilities of board membership and the role engaged leaders play in strengthening organizations and the communities they serve.
