As a covenant partner church supporting HAAM, we are excited to participate in their HISD “Sneakerdoodles” campaign to help provide new shoes for students in Kinder-12th grade. Donations can be brought to church beginning June 12-August 3. We’ll deliver them to HAAM for distribution. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of local students and families!

Revival cannot be manufactured; it can only be prepared for. We can be ready for it, by confessing our destructive ways and repenting and turning towards God. By repenting, we are brought us home , by confessing we reorder our allegiance, and revival sends us back into mission, back into this lost and broken world.

Repentance and confession aren't merely words that we say to God or others, they are also ways in which we reveal the orientation of our lives. By truly confessing, we are shown which direction we're facing and opening ourselves up to. Are we facing the world, with it's ideologies and politicking? Or are we facing toward Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life? These words are not a call to guilt or shame, but rather an invitation into freedom: agreeing with God that my way leads to destruction, and his way leads to life.

You have died with Christ. You have been made alive with Christ. Your debt has been canceled. The powers have been disarmed. Stay rooted in him. Because the life you are looking for, the life you were created for, is not beyond him. It is in him.

If Jesus + Nothing = Salvation, then why do I worry sometimes whether I’ve been good enough to earn or deserve God’s grace and mercy? Why would I ever sit in shame over my brokenness when Jesus has already nailed it to the cross? Paul asks this of the church in Colossae and warns that the world will offer solutions. Some of these, might even be good or involve Jesus in some way or another, but in doing so they attempt to make Jesus lesser, rather than the only one can never deliver us from sin.
