When examining testimonies like the Widow's in 2 Kings, we must be very careful about what we learn from them. We as Chritians are not guaranteed miracles like hers. Faith in God does not mean that we are freed from a life of hardships and pain, that prophets will come to our doors and heal what ails us or the power to do it ourselves. What we are commanded to do it to grow as the kind of people that will hear and respond to the cries of our neighbors. That is who we are called to be. This story reveals the character of our Father, and what life looks like under his reign.
Where do we find hope when life feels overwhelming? Our new sermon series: Resilient Faith: Elijah, Elisha, and the God Who Sustains aims to answer that question. From drought to abundance, despair to renewed purpose, these stories remind us that God never stops caring for His people. Join us for a six-week journey that ultimately points to Jesus—the One who restores the weary, provides abundantly, and gives lasting hope. We'd love to worship with you.
