We are called to step out into the world. To leave the safe confines of our churches and to go out and be the hands and feet of our Savior. The work is varied and is not in short supply, all we have to ourselves is this: "What is God doing in our world right now?"

It’s time for our next Community event: Trivia Night! On Wednesday, June 24, from 6-8 p.m., we’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall for dinner, fellowship, and fun. Categories will include Bible trivia, First Pres facts, Star Wars (of course), and more. Bring friends to enjoy the evening.

As a covenant partner church supporting HAAM, we are excited to participate in their HISD “Sneakerdoodles” campaign to help provide new shoes for students in Kinder-12th grade. Donations can be brought to church beginning June 12-August 3. We’ll deliver them to HAAM for distribution. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of local students and families!

Take heart, if you are weary and know that because you belong to Christ, Christ will not let go of you. Real change, real repentance is possible is we fix our focus on him and not the things of this world. When the world throws its worst at you, remember, that Christ is with you and that will always be enough.

Join First Pres for our sermon series: Christ in all of Life: Colossians. Over the next few weeks, we'll dive into Paul's letter to the church in Colossae. The warnings he gives and the lessons he imparted to them are still incredibly relevant to our lives today. We pray you'll join us!
