We’re always tempted to reach for one more thing: one more achievement, one more victory, one more guarantee that everything will work out the way we want.

But Christ has already done what we cannot. He has borne our sins. He has risen from the dead. He has promised us everlasting life.

When Christ is enough, we’re free to receive His blessings with gratitude instead of demand. We don’t have to fight for everything, because in Christ, the victory is already ours. ✝️

When Jesus said, “This is my body” and “This is my blood,” what did He mean?

In this week’s Pastor’s Corner, Rev. Jason Moreno looks at why Lutherans believe Christ’s true body and blood are really present in Holy Communion and why the Lord’s Supper is more than simply remembering what Jesus did.

In Communion, Christ comes to us with a tangible promise: His body and blood, given for the forgiveness of sins. We may not be able to explain exactly how it happens, but we trust the words and promises of Christ.

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” - Philippians 4:13

It’s one of the most quoted verses in Scripture but it doesn’t mean Jesus promises we’ll succeed at every goal we set (or magically lift that heavier dumbbell 😅).

The promise is even better: Christ sustains us in every circumstance we face.

In abundance or in need, in the good seasons and the difficult ones, our strength and contentment are found in Him. ✝️

You don’t have to make yourself worthy of Christ before coming to Him.

You don’t need an impressive religious résumé. You don’t need to hide your failures, your shame, or your struggles. Christ came to forgive sinners and that means His invitation is for people like us.

There is room at Christ’s table. Come because you need His mercy. Come because He has invited you. ✝️

What is the one thing you believe you absolutely must have?

Sometimes even good things can become so important to us that we sacrifice other blessings trying to get them. Success, security, recognition, control—none of these are necessarily bad, but none of them can give us what Christ already has.

What do you believe you absolutely need in order to be content?

It’s easy to think that one more achievement, relationship, victory, or bit of security will finally be enough. But God gives us something far greater: Christ Himself.

When our worth and hope are secure in Jesus, we are free to receive God’s blessings with gratitude instead of constantly grasping for more. In Christ, we already have what matters most—forgiveness, salvation, and everlasting life.
