There is a difference between shame and confession.

Shame tells us, “This is who I am and nothing else.” But confession allows us to say, “This is what I have done, and it’s time to move forward.”

We can be honest about our sin without becoming our sin. We can acknowledge our failures without allowing them to define us.

Grace doesn’t mean the previous page doesn’t matter. It means it’s not the last page. ❤️

“The goal is not, ‘I caught you.’ The goal is, ‘I want you back.’”

Christian confrontation isn't about proving that we're right or making sure everyone knows that someone else's failure wasn't our fault.

It's about restoration.

The sin is something that needs to be addressed—but the person is someone who needs to be loved. ❤️

Before we confront someone, maybe we should ask ourselves:

Am I trying to restore this person, or am I just trying to establish my innocence?

What would it look like to approach difficult conversations with the goal of bringing someone back rather than pushing them away?

We’re all sinners in need of God’s grace. ❤️

When we remember that, it changes the way we speak to others and it changes the way we receive correction, too.

Our ego doesn’t always like being corrected. But sometimes we need to humbly admit, “I don’t have it figured out. Maybe someone else sees something I don’t.”

Grace doesn’t mean avoiding the truth. It means speaking the truth with humility, love, and the understanding that we need grace, too.

This week, we’re reminded that Christian accountability isn’t about pointing fingers, proving someone wrong, or saying, “I caught you.” It’s about loving one another enough to speak truth, offer grace, accept accountability, and walk alongside each other toward restoration. ❤️
