“The Lord is my shepherd” is the line everyone knows. Sunday, Steve asked the follow-up question: if the Lord is your shepherd, what does that make you? 🐑

Sheep aren’t strong or strategic. They’re defenseless — a wolf comes and they stand there and take it. That’s the picture David chose for himself, and the comfort in it is this: “Shepherds know that sheep are weak.” Your shepherd isn’t surprised by your weakness. He knows your pain, your struggles, your failures, your fears — and he knows how to restore you, no matter how dark life gets.

“He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” — Psalm 23:3 (ESV)

What do you bring to God when you've got nothing left to offer?

This Sunday we'll open Psalm 51 — a prayer David wrote when he was undone by his own sin. It's the passage that teaches us to come with empty hands, not depending our own goodness but God's steadfast love and abundant mercy — and to ask Him for the one thing we can't manufacture: a clean heart.

On Sunday, in Psalm 77, we sat with something honest: sometimes life doesn't match what we know about God and Christians still struggle with hard things. Asaph did too. But he made a choice — "I will remember the deeds of the LORD." 🕊️

We all look somewhere for help when life feels uncertain.

Psalm 121 reminds us that our ultimate security isn't found in our own strength, our plans, or our circumstances—it is found in the Lord, our Keeper. Because of what Jesus has already done for us, we can rest in the faithful care of the One who never sleeps, never leaves us, and never fails.
