When Arthur Gossip’s wife died, he started his sermon on the following Sunday with these words, “When all of life caves in, what then?” Good question. We wake up from tragedies and realize that they are true. What next? Can we trust God when our lives are coming undone? Adam and Eve faced this dilemma. God gave them sons. One son killed the other. God pursued the guilty son and preserved his life. Years later, another son was born. Seth and his wife gave Adam and Eve another grandson. At that time, people began to call on the name of the Lord. On the darkest day, there is still a measure of light. Look to the Lord.
