They're off! 💛

This morning, more than 140 MDUMC students and 50 adults hit the road for Brady, Texas, for our sixth Workcamp in the community.

For almost 40 years, Workcamp has been one of the most meaningful traditions in our student ministry, a week dedicated to serving others, growing in faith, building friendships, and discovering how God works through ordinary people willing to say "yes."

Over the next seven days, students will repair homes, serve local organizations, worship together, and make a lasting impact throughout Brady. Most importantly, they'll be reminded that faith isn't just what we believe, it's also how we live.

Join us in praying for safe travels, meaningful connections, and a week full of God sightings. We can't wait to see all that God will do through this incredible group!

How do you know it's the Holy Spirit speaking? Sometimes the question isn't, "Can I do this?" It's, "Is this leading me closer to Christ?"

Yesterday was a special afternoon.

We gathered for the CFF Annual Banquet, and together raised $100,000 toward fully funding the Jennie and Mike Baker Youth Scholarship Fund, a tribute to two people who believed deeply in this church, in education, and in showing up for others.

Jennie and Mike invested in people step by step, year by year. Mike served on the Caring Forever Foundation Board. They poured themselves into this community and into the next generation. This fund is their legacy living on.

The scholarship - $1,000 to each graduating senior - may not change everything, but it says something every student needs to hear: We see you. We believe in you. You are not going alone.

Our keynote speaker, Jim Nantz, had the room hanging on every word. He shared about growing up at MDUMC and how sitting in the pews on Sunday mornings, listening to Dr. Gene Cragg preach, stirred something in him, an inspiration that stayed with him and helped shape him into the storyteller the world knows today. It was a beautiful reminder that what happens inside these walls travels far beyond them.

In just the past four years, more than 100 MDUMC students have received this scholarship. Last week, 28 seniors from the Class of 2026 were awarded it. Yesterday, we helped make sure that continues.

If you'd like to be part of this story, you can give to the Jennie and Mike Baker Youth Scholarship Fund at mdumc.org/cff. Every gift says to a student: your church is with you. 💛
