Fresh Start Community Church of Houston Texas

Fresh Start Community Church of Houston Texas Founded in 2009 by Troy T. Johnson, our church creates a Christ-centered community meeting the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of others.

Our motto, “A place where love is not an option,” reflects God’s unchanging faithfulness. At Fresh Start Community Church, we believe that a fresh start is always possible through Christ. Founded in September 2009 by Dr. Troy T. Johnson, our church was born out of a deep passion to create a welcoming, Christ-centered community where everyone can find hope, healing, and purpose. We’re not just a ch

urch—we’re a family, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Our mission is simple: to meet the total needs—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—of the people and the community that God has placed us in. We are called to serve, love, and uplift one another, knowing that together, we are stronger. Whether you’re seeking a place to grow in faith, connect with others, or make a difference in the world, you’ll find a home here at Fresh Start. We hold to our Core Values as the foundation of everything we do. These values are not just words on a page—they guide our hearts, our actions, and our relationships with one another:
• Covenant Love: We believe in unshakable love and an unbreakable covenant, not just with God but with each other. Here, love is more than a feeling; it’s a commitment to stand by one another, no matter the circumstances.
• Community: Together, we are stronger in Christ. We support, uplift, and encourage each other, understanding that no one should ever walk alone. We are better together.
• Fellowship: United in faith, we walk in the light of Christ. Fellowship is at the heart of our church life, as we gather in worship, prayer, and service, building bonds that transcend beyond Sunday mornings.
• Discipleship: We’re all in a journey of learning, growing, and leading for Christ. At Fresh Start, we are committed to discipleship, constantly growing in our faith and helping each other along the way.
• Respect: Honor God, honor others. In all our relationships, we aim to show respect, kindness, and understanding, honoring the image of God in each person.
• Excellence: We give our best for His glory. Whether in worship, service, or daily life, we strive to do everything with excellence, reflecting God’s greatness in all that we do.
• Stewardship: Faithful with His gifts, generous with His love. We recognize that all we have is a gift from God, and we are committed to using our resources to serve Him and bless others. As we live out these values, we hold on to the promise from Lamentations 3:22-23, that “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” We know that each day is a new opportunity to experience God’s faithfulness and share His love with those around us. At Fresh Start, we invite you to join us on this journey. We are a place where love is not an option, and we are committed to meeting the needs of the community—spiritually, emotionally, and practically. Whether you are new to faith or have walked with Christ for many years, there is a place for you here. We can’t wait to walk alongside you as we grow together in faith, hope, and love.

Some storms aren’t sent to destroy you—they’re sent to get your attention, disrupt your comfort, and redirect you toward purpose. 🌊⛈️

Jonah discovered that you can run from the assignment, but you can’t outrun the God who called you.

Sometimes the storm isn’t the end of the story… it’s God turning you back in the right direction.

💭 What might God be trying to get your attention about?

🌊 Some storms aren’t sent to destroy you—they’re sent to redirect you.

Jonah knew what God said, but chose another direction. Yet God loved him, called him, and had placed too much inside of him to simply let him disappear.

Sometimes the storm is evidence that God is still pursuing us—even when we’re running from what He said.
