Lord, Why do I keep falling when I try as hard? Matthew 26::41; Colossians 3:1-25; Josiah 1:8; James 2:10
To my knowledge, there are 3 critical reasons:
1- Jesus said, "watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptations" (Matthew 26:41). If you don't watch your steps and you don't pray, you will fall into temptations.
2- God said to Joshua, "Meditate on this book of the law and do as it is written and there you will see your way through, you will prosper in everything you do...." (Joshua 1:8). If you don't meditate upon the Word of God and do as it is written, you will fall no matter what. There is one thing to read and another to do. You can't see your way through if you don't meditate and do And according to James 2:10, "If you practice all the commandments and fall in ONE POINT, you become guilty of all the commandments." If you have the habit of "Picking and Choosing" you can't stand. God picks and we do. We don't pick or choose when obeying God.
3- John 12:40, Jesus speaking of the Pharisees "He (God) has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they should see with their eyes, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them." Because you have over resisted and hardened your heart, now God Himself decided to blind you and harden your heart so that you can't see or understand anything though sitting in the church or meditating in the Word. It's a form of delusion that God sent upon you to keep you falling. Sincere repentance is the only remedy in this case

Don't be lukewarm - Be hot (Revelation 3:14-19).
Jesus said because you are neither cold nor hot, He will spit you out. A lukewarm is neither cold nor hot - in other words, he has one foot in, one foot out. But Jesus said, "since the days of John the Baptist the Kingdom of Heaven suffered violence and only the violent take it by force." To hot, you must be violent against Satan like Jesus. You can't win the evil one by being soft to him. You must be violent to say, "no more. You done," Be able to say to a friend or siblings or parents or boss, "Don't cross the limits. I am not compromising my faith for pleasures.." Jesus rebuke Peter openly and firmly when Peter tried to discourage Him from accomplishing His Order of Mission. Be capable of rebuking when your faith is in danger. What will profit you to keep a worldly, prayerless, lifestyle, unyieldiness, emotional bondage...if at the end, Jesus spit you out to hell? It's time to make a firm decision - either it's Christ or it's the world. You can't serve two masters

Severe from the spirit of fear - Fear is a grit to faith. Unless we overcome fear, the flesh will never submit to the spirit (Galatians 5:13-26).Jesus said in Matthew 26:41, "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." Fear is the hammer that weakened the flesh. The fear of tomorrow, bad breath, not meeting the goal, losing someone or something precious, not sure of the next meal, dying, fear or shame to be alone or to be known as such or such..,.. Fear can be a generational curse. But there is always a way to put an end to generational curse. In Number 25, Phineas put an end to a plague that has caused almost 24,000 deaths. No one could stand not even Moses but Phineas ran the risk of fighting for the assembly. David said in Psalm 23, "Though I walked in the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." David said, I will not fear. You can say it too. The cure of fear is faith. If faith can move mountains then faith can move fear (Matthew 17:20; Mark 11:22-24). To fight fear and win, you must be patient and ready to die or live like Daniel, Mesack, Shadrack and Abednego (Daniel 6 and Daniel 3).
