🌙 Antes de Dormir – Reflexión del XVII Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

Hoy, Salomón no le pidió a Dios riquezas, éxito ni la victoria sobre sus enemigos. Le pidió un corazón que supiera comprender.

Un corazón comprensivo es mucho más que sabiduría. Es un corazón que escucha antes de juzgar, que elige la compasión antes que la indiferencia y la misericordia antes que la conveniencia.

Jesús nos recuerda que el Reino de los Cielos es el tesoro más grande que podemos encontrar. Si el cielo es nuestro mayor tesoro, entonces cada persona que encontramos debe ser tratada como alguien precioso a los ojos de Dios, especialmente quien sufre, lucha o necesita esperanza.

Esta noche, antes de cerrar los ojos, preguntémonos:

Cuando alguien necesitó comprensión, ¿le ofrecí juicio o misericordia?

¿Reflejaron mis palabras y mis acciones el corazón de Cristo?

Si Jesús hubiera estado delante de mí en la persona que estaba sufriendo, ¿lo habría reconocido?

Que Dios nos conceda el mismo regalo que le dio a Salomón: un corazón sabio porque sabe amar.

"Concede a tu siervo un corazón que sepa escuchar y comprender." (1 Reyes 3, 9)

🌙 Before We Sleep – Reflection for the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today, Solomon did not ask God for riches, success, or victory over his enemies. He asked for an understanding heart.

An understanding heart is more than wisdom. It is a heart that listens before judging, that chooses compassion over indifference, and mercy over convenience.

Jesus reminds us that the Kingdom of Heaven is the greatest treasure. If heaven is our greatest treasure, then every person we meet should be treated as someone precious in God's eyes—especially those who are suffering, struggling, or in need of hope.

Tonight, before we fall asleep, let us ask ourselves:

When someone needed understanding, did I offer judgment or mercy?

Did my words and actions reflect the heart of Christ?

If Jesus had been standing before me in the person who was hurting, would I have recognized Him?

May God give us the gift He gave Solomon: a heart that is wise because it knows how to love.

"Give your servant an understanding heart." (1 Kings 3:9)

Feliz Sábado de Gloria!

El Sábado Santo es un día de silencio y esperanza. Nos reunimos con un corazón sencillo para dar la bienvenida a quienes hoy entran en plena comunión con la Iglesia. Así como los discípulos esperaban sin entender del todo, nosotros también esperamos confiando en Dios.

Aunque el sepulcro parecía cerrado, Jesús no quedó en la tumba. Él ya estaba obrando, trayendo vida donde parecía haber solo oscuridad.

Con alegría y humildad, saludamos a todos nuestros feligreses y a nuestra comunidad, y los invitamos a acompañarnos en la Vigilia Pascual, la liturgia más hermosa del año, donde celebramos la luz de Cristo que vence toda oscuridad.

Hoy celebramos con una alegría sencilla, sabiendo que en Jesús siempre hay un nuevo comienzo. Bienvenidos a esta familia de fe, donde juntos caminamos con esperanza hacia la Resurrección.

Happy Holy Saturday!

Holy Saturday is a day of silence and hope. We gather with simple hearts to welcome those who today enter into full communion with the Church. Just as the disciples waited without fully understanding, we too wait, trusting in God.

Although the tomb seemed closed, Jesus did not remain in it. Even then, He was at work, bringing life where there seemed to be only darkness.

With joy and humility, we greet all our parishioners and our community, and we invite you to join us for the Easter Vigil, the most beautiful liturgy of the year, where we celebrate the light of Christ that overcomes all darkness.

Today we celebrate with a simple joy, knowing that in Jesus there is always a new beginning. Welcome to this family of faith, where together we walk in hope toward the Resurrection.
