Houston friends, on Saturday October 26, from 11 am - 3 pm, First Lutheran - Houston will be hosting our annual Oktoberfest. We'll have great food, beer, live music, and lots of fun and games for the kiddos. Come on out for a great time. The weather is looking lovely these days! Dirndls are optional.

Come on out to 1311 Holman, 77004 on Saturday for some old-fashioned family fun and friendship. $10 to get in and get beer and ride rides, $5 food for kids, $10 for adults. See you there!

Theology nerds, apologetics fans, and lovers of debate, there is a debate coming soon to Houston that you might find interesting. Focusing on the ever-controversial topic of marriage, notable apologist James White will be debating progressive Keith Giles on marriage. It will surely cover a lot of both biblical ground and social/political ground. This is a formal debate complete with a moderator and extensive cross examination. (That's the really fun part.) It's here. This Sunday at 9:00 am. A Spoken Word service (as in, no music, not hip-hop TBH) for those ready to get back to church who are still a little leary of big crowds.

On Sunday, October 4 9:00 am, we will be launching a spoken word-only service. The service is designed knowing that not everyone is musical or enjoys singing. We also know there are folks who are staying away from worship because they do not feel safe. In addition to no singing, we have ample room for social distancing and masks are requested. This service will have all of the main components of any proper worship service: Bible lessons, a sermon, Holy Communion, prayers, etc. Children are always welcome at First Lutheran, but as this service is a bit less formal and the worship service will last about 45 minutes, parents may prefer it. Join us then!
