Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Asian Mass Bishop Curtis Guillory originally proposed the annual Asian Mass to express unity in Christ by Asian Catholics in the Archdiocese

The annual Mass reflects the collaboration of the Asian community, with a different nationality leading the organization each year in a different aspect of the celebration. While Asian nationalities are vastly different from one another in language, history and culture, they are all grateful for the European missionaries who ventured eastward to preach the Gospel, sow the seed of faith and help the Church take root, bringing millions to the Catholic faith.

Let us pray for our Archbishop-Designate Joe Vásquez as we prepare for his installation tomorrow as our new Archbishop of Galveston-Houston.

Vespers (evening prayer) and the Installation Mass will be livestreamed on the Archdiocesan website (www.archgh.org/live), and all are welcome to join online, due to space constraints at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

In addition, Masses of Welcome and Thanksgiving for Archbishop-Designate Vásquez are being planned for a number of parishes around the Archdiocese after Easter. The details regarding these public Masses will be shared in the Texas Catholic Herald and on the Archdiocesan website.

May God bless Archbishop Vásquez as the new shepherd of our Archdiocese.
