Oikos Church Families on mission. Formed by Jesus. Sent to make disciples. We desire to be a family where everyone contributes and everyone is supported. Welcome to the Oikos!

Oikos Church is a family on mission together whose purpose is to help people experience Jesus and to make disciples who make disciples. We try our best to live life together as an oikos (an extended family through the blood of Christ) and are eager to join God's mission of redemption; to actively invest in the lives of others so that everyone we meet can experience Jesus and live life to the fulle

Oikos is men, women, children, families, singles, doctors, lawyers, plumbers, salesmen & women, musicians, artists, engineers, divorced, married, etc. No one family is the same, but we are all united in community together around the cross of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Our identity is communicated through our mosaic 'O' logo. We are all broken as individuals and as families, but we are drawn together as family around the unbroken cross of Jesus Christ, who gives new life and makes all things new. When gathered around the cross, our brokenness is made into something beautiful for God truly makes beautiful things out of the dust. We gather for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00am at 522 Lindale, 77022 in Lindale Park area and throughout the week in our missional communities.

MISSION SUNDAY 🌎

Today we're taking church beyond the building.

There is no regular in-person worship service today. Instead, we're encouraging you to "be the church wherever you are."

Look around.

Who can you listen to?
Who can you encourage?
Who can you serve?
Who can you invite into deeper connection?

Luke 15 reminds us that t"he one matters to God."

So today, let's notice the one.

Let's move toward the one.

Let's love the one.

And let's trust God with what happens next.

Go be on mission in your community. ❤️

Tomorrow is Mission Sunday.

There won't be a regular in-person worship service, but that doesn't mean we're taking the week off.

We're being sent out into the places God has already put us.

Before tomorrow, take a moment to pray:

“God, open my eyes to the people around me. Show me who You want me to notice, listen to, and love.”

Then be ready to take one simple step.

You never know what God might do through a conversation, an act of kindness, or simply being present.

The one matters. And we're going after the one.

MISSION SUNDAY IS THIS WEEKEND

This Sunday will look a little different at Oikos.

We won't gather for our regular in-person worship service. Instead, we're encouraging you to go and be on mission in your community.

Take what you've been hearing and put it into practice.

Go to your neighborhood.
Go to a local gathering.
Spend time with a friend.
Serve someone.
Have a conversation.
Look for the person who may need to be seen and heard.

Mission isn't just something we do at church. It's part of who we are as followers of Jesus.

This Sunday, let's go find the opportunities God has already placed around us.

Who is your one?

Every Sunday, we gather to hear God's Word.

But the invitation doesn't end when the service ends.

Luke 15 reminds us of God's heart for the lost. And if we're learning to follow Jesus, His heart should shape the way we see and love the people around us.

So this week, put it into practice.

Listen.
Notice.
Accompany.
Love.
Take a step.

You don't have to do something big.

Start with one person.

Take a moment to notice, listen, ask, encourage, or make time for someone. Who will you move toward this week?

On Sunday, we walked through Luke 15:1–10 and were reminded of something simple but powerful: "the one matters to God."

Jesus tells the stories of the lost sheep and the lost coin to show us the heart of God—a God who seeks, finds, and rejoices when what was lost is found.

This week, let's carry that message with us.

Who is one person God may be inviting you to notice?
Who needs someone to listen?
Who might need encouragement, friendship, or simply someone to show up?

Don't overlook the one.
Ask God to help you see the people around you the way He does.

What if we didn't just read Jesus' words—but actually lived them?

This week, choose one teaching from Matthew 5–7 that stands out to you. Read it each day and ask:

If I truly believe these words today, how would I live differently?

Then take one simple step of obedience.

Forgive someone. Encourage someone. Give generously. Pray instead of worrying. Serve without being noticed.

Don't try to do it alone. Read Matthew 5–7 with someone and ask:

• What does this reveal about Jesus and His kingdom?
• What does this reveal about people or myself?
• What is one step of obedience this invites me to take?
• Who else needs to hear these words?

Take the step. Then check in with each other throughout the week.

Following Jesus means letting His words shape the way we live.
