All creation groans and longs for the day when its healing is complete and our hope is fulfilled. We groan through this in between time with our neighbors in Hill Country grieving devastating flooding from this past week — within many of the same communities that one year ago endured desolate loss.

Our United Methodist family members are boots on the ground in Hill Country extending the grace and love of Christ, and our Bishop Harvey provides leadership to this area, too — the Rio Texas Annual Conference. UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief is responding with a solidarity grant to Rio which will support their efforts to meet immediate needs.

To all who gave to this morning's special offering for Rio's recovery, we’re so grateful for you, your generous hearts, and your faithful spirits.

Even if you're traveling, you can join us in helping our neighbors by giving at the link below and choosing the fund "special offering." May we be grace in the world this week, friends.

One month away from back to school! The rest of July we’re partnering with our local school Love Elementary to provide school supplies to students who could use who an extra measure of grace and generosity. Our goal is 50 count of each of the basic elementary items — let’s crush our goal and love our neighbors well!

Through Sunday, July 26th, drop supplies off at the church office (1230 Yale St.) M-F 9am-5pm, in the narthex Sunday mornings, or ship them to us (1230 Yale St. Houston, TX 77008). We’ll bless and commission them during worship on Sunday July 26th.

Link here for the supplies signup — https://tinyurl.com/bdahmu9c — you can customize your giving with how many boxes of crayons, rulers, or glue you and your family would like to contribute! This is a super easy way to get your friends involved, too. Anyone with a generous heart and Amazon account can participate! ❤️

We’re delighted to welcome Choral Scholar Rachel Anderson to the Grace fam! Rachel recently graduated from high school and is excited to continue making music in a faith community setting. Having grown up singing in the choir at St. Paul’s UMC Houston she cherishes sharing sacred music. Her favorite hymn is “I Want to Walk as a Child of Light,” and she’s excited to add her voice to the Grace fam. We look forward to seeing God work in and through you, Rachel! Join us this Sunday so you can meet her — be sure to ask about her love of sushi and dumplings!

School’s out—summer’s here! ⛱️ As rhythms of rest and travel and play mark the season, we pray you notice the ways God is in it all. God longs for you to take a deep breath and receive peace that passes understanding. God gets a kick out of you having the best kind of belly laughter. God delights in you and wants belonging for you.

So may you experience God in it all, friends—the ice cream, road trips, long evening walks. We pray the Spirit blesses you in life-giving ways these long sweaty beautiful days ☀️🌈❤️

Our newest received professing members are amazing—they are generous, thoughtful, and eager to serve. They’re beyond ready to follow Jesus and carry out the Great Commission—sent to not simply share their belief in Christ but to build communities of belonging where lives are changed by love. Remember, that best of all God is with us—and we love you, Confirmands! ❤️

Join us tomorrow at 11am in the sanctuary for Confirmation Sunday! We’re thrilled about our young people who will be affirming their faith in Christ and renewing their baptismal covenant, as we all acknowledge what God is doing for us and reaffirm our commitment to Jesus. Then we’ll celebrate with a picnic as we kick off summer together — it’ll be an awesome day. Can’t wait to see you! 💒🌎

“I’ll be processing for a while this year’s Texas Annual Conference — a jubilant week of celebratory worship, generous connection, and joyful reimagining of ministry as a connectional church. Every day I had the delight of being side by side our church delegate Becky. We found our comfy corner in the room to share at table with a few old and new friends as we listened and learned together, laughed and cried (🙋🏻‍♀️good tears), dreamed and were in awe of God and the good work the Spirit is doing through the church. Grace friends, be on the lookout for an update from Becky in next week’s newsletter and in worship on Sunday, June 7. We have all kinds of ideas and questions for holy adventures with you and our neighbors.

Gloria a Dios!” ✨❤️
