7 THINGS GOD HATES — BUT MANY PEOPLE TOLERATE
Proverbs 6:16–19 gives us a serious warning: there are things the Lord hates—not because He hates people, but because He hates the sin that destroys hearts, relationships, and lives.
Proud eyes remind us that God resists arrogance.
A lying tongue reminds us that truth matters, even when the truth is difficult.
Hands that shed innocent blood remind us of the sacred value of human life.
A heart that devises wicked plans warns us that sin begins in the heart before it appears in our actions.
Feet that run to evil challenge us to stop intentionally walking toward temptation.
A false witness who speaks lies reminds us that our words can either protect someone or destroy them.
And one who sows discord among brothers warns us against becoming the source of division, gossip, hatred, and broken relationships.
This is not merely a list to read—it is a mirror for our lives.
Before we point at the sins of others, we should ask ourselves:
“Lord, is there anything in me that You want to change?”
A proud heart can become humble.
A lying tongue can learn truth.
A wicked heart can repent.
Feet that once ran toward evil can turn and walk toward God.
A person who created division can become a peacemaker.
God’s warning is also an invitation: REPENT, RETURN, AND BE TRANSFORMED.
Do not wait until your heart becomes hardened. Do not normalize what God calls sin. Do not allow pride, lies, hatred, or division to become part of who you are.
Choose truth over lies.
Choose humility over pride.
Choose peace over division.
Choose righteousness over evil.
Choose God over the desires of the flesh.
The greatest question is not, “What are other people doing wrong?”
The question is:
“Am I becoming the person God wants me to be?”
🙏 Lord, search my heart, correct my ways, and help me walk in truth, humility, love, and righteousness.
“There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him.” — Proverbs 6:16
Let this be a warning, but also a call to transformation.
