God’s discipline isn’t punishment.
It’s love in action.

Sometimes it looks like conviction you can’t shake.
Sometimes it sounds like truth from people who care enough not to stay silent.

Not to push you away.
To pull you back before you drift further than you realized.

God doesn’t correct His people to shame them.
He disciplines them because He loves them too much to leave them there.

The World Cup coming to Houston means two things:

1. The city will be packed.
2. A lot of people are about to come for soccer and hear about Jesus somewhere between the stadium and a street taco.

Sagemont is teaming up with churches and ministries across Houston to reach over 500,000 visitors during the World Cup with the hope of Jesus through real, everyday conversations.

A lot has changed in 60 years.

The mission never did.

What started with a few names has become generations of people finding faith, finding community, and finding a place to belong.

And at Sagemont, God has been faithful every step of the way, and His people are still the story He’s writing.

Most people aren’t avoiding conversations about faith because they don’t care. They’re avoiding them because they don’t want to sound forced, awkward, or like they have to get every word exactly right.

That hesitation is real.

But sometimes the most meaningful conversations start a lot simpler than we think. Not polished. Not perfect. Just honest.

This resource was created by our very own Pastor, Dr. Levi Skipper, alongside Dr. Rob Peters, to help make those moments feel more natural and less intimidating in everyday life.

Some people think serving is for someone more “ready” than them, like they are still waiting to become that version of themselves.

But we all serve through our gifts, even the ones that feel small or overlooked, and they matter more than we think.

God does not call the equipped. He equips the called.

So maybe the question is not, “Am I ready?”

Maybe it is, “Who could I serve with what I already have?”

Feeling ordinary? You’re exactly who God uses.

Don’t let feeling unqualified keep you from what God is calling you to do. Throughout Scripture, God uses everyday people so when lives are changed, the glory points back to Him, not us.

In this message from the book of Amos, we look at the life of a shepherd, farmer, and ordinary man God called to deliver an extraordinary message. See how God equips the people He calls and invites us to step into His purpose every day.

Today we remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their courage and selflessness remind us that freedom is never free.

Because of their sacrifice, we have the opportunity to live freely, love deeply, serve generously, and lead with courage.

We remember the heroes we lost.
We honor their sacrifice.
