Happy 77th Anniversary, St. Mary's United Methodist Church!🎉⛪️🕊💜😊
What a blessing it was to celebrate this remarkable milestone with a community rooted in faith, love, and tradition. As we continue to grow and serve, we remain committed to honoring God in all that we do, giving Him all the glory for 77 years of ministry, fellowship, and service.
The spirit of celebration was made even more meaningful by the powerful message delivered by Bishop Clinton-Lincoln Sterling Davis II, ✝️whose inspiring words encouraged and uplifted the congregation. Adding to the joy of the occasion were the young praise dancers 💜from Trinity United Methodist Church and Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, whose heartfelt performance blessed everyone in attendance.
Building on that spirit of worship, the combined Music Ministries🎶🎵 of Riverside United Methodist Church and St. Mary's United Methodist Church led the congregation in a truly moving worship experience. Their songs of praise filled the sanctuary and inspired many to rise to their feet, singing and glorifying God together.
As we celebrated God's faithfulness through worship and song, we also took time to reflect on the rich history of our church. A heartfelt salute goes to the members who performed the skit, "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants." 🎭This innovative and informative presentation brought the story of St. Mary's to life, reminding us of the faithful men and women whose sacrifices and dedication laid the foundation upon which our church stands today.
While these memorable moments highlighted the day's celebration, none of it would have been possible without the dedication of those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. We extend our sincere appreciation to Anniversary Committee Chair Ms. Ruth Mooney, Co-Chair Ms. Annette Moore, and the Altar Guild for their leadership, vision, and hard work in making this year's anniversary celebration so beautiful and memorable.💫
As we give thanks for the past 77 years, we look forward with faith and anticipation to what God has in store for the future of St. Mary's United Methodist Church. Here are a few highlights from this wonderful day of worship, fellowship, and celebration! 🎉⛪✨

We are absolutely thrilled to recognize and honor our incredible high school and college graduates from the 2025–2026 academic year.

🎓Camden C. (Terrance & Monica Howard) graduate of Lee Crawford High School, Magna Cum Laude.
Camden will attend the University of Texas, San Antonio.

🎓Cameron S. (Grandson, Bettye Kindle) graduate of Morehouse College. Cameron plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Construction Management/Real Estate.

🎓Sydney A. (Aunt, Tamara Alexander) Graduate of Texas Wesleyan University.

🎓Leah A. (Aunt, Tamara Alexander) graduate of St. Agnes Academy. Leah plans to attend the University of Texas, Austin.

🎓Aaron C. (Grandfather, Bill Crossland) graduate of Houston Area High School. Aaron plans to attend college in Oklahoma.

The United Women in Faith attended the luncheon for the Annual Conference this year. Great speaker Rev. Dr. Vaughn. UWW President Theresa Graham received the Hazel Decker Award.
