St. Monica Catholic Church

St. Monica Catholic Church St. Monica Catholic Church is located in the Acres Homes Community, in the North/Northwest part of Ha We are committed to:

1.

Living the life of Christ the Priest through prayer and worship. As a community of God's people and members of his family, we gather to worship and pray, celebrating his offer of salvation by promoting and nurturing the spiritual life of our members, and through Christ's saving grace, experience his healing and peace.

2. Living the life of Christ the Teacher as we share his message. We grow our m

embers (young and old) to be active and good Christians by revitalizing ourselves through continuing programs of Catholic education, ongoing conversion, and a firm commitment to the teachings of Christ in thought, word and deed.

3. Living the life of Christ the Shepherd through evangelization. Our church community is open to all who seek the word of God in their daily lives to satisfy their spiritual hunger, as we work to evangelize anew, those of our faith, and reach out, as well, to those who are unchurched and alienated.

4. Living the life of Christ the Servant by sharing his love with all. As a community of Christ's faithful, we reach out to those in need, regardless of race color, or creed, through works of charity; demonstrating God's love for all, in imitation of Christ who came to serve, giving hope and dignity to the poor and downtrodden.

Today, August 27th, is the Feast Day of our Patron Saint, St. Monica.

Prayer to St. Monica
Blessed Monica,
Mother of St. Augustine of Hippo, we give thanks to our Father in Heaven who looked with mercy upon your tears over your wayward son. His conversion and heroic sanctification were the fruit of your prayers.

Dear St. Monica,
We ask you to pray with us for all those sons and daughters that have wandered away from God, and we ask God to watch over all mothers and heal, strengthen and bless the relationships they share with their children. Bless all mothers who are worried over their children. Pray also for us that, following your example of patience, we may, in the company of our children, one day enjoy the eternal vision of our Father in Heaven and that we may bask in the fullness of joy that the love of God offers us. Amen.

Like St. Monica, most of us have loved ones who have left the faith, or who do not believe in God. Take a few moments to pray for them, that they may encounter and know God’s love.

St. Monica, pray for us.
