The Assumption Cameroon Catholic Community in Houston is a non-profit faith family, dedicated to stewardship and the spiritual growth of all Cameroonian faithful in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. As a cultural instrument of the church, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, we see as our mission, the creation and provision of aven
ues through which Cameroonian Catholics can worship, in a way that gives life to their faith, and enable them grow strong and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe our mission is to fully answer and live our baptismal call through prayer life centered in liturgical celebration and nourished by a rich sacramental life. We believe that guided by the Holy Spirit, we can fulfill this mission by sharing our time, talents and participating in discipleship for the honor and glory of God, for our salvation and the salvation of all mankind. PREAMBLE:
As a faith family, we are responsible to witness our love and concern by fostering an atmosphere of belonging so that no one should feel alienated from the faith community. Through liturgical celebrations, catechesis, evangelization and socialization, the spiritual identity we seek to develop will be supported and enriched. We are dedicated to cultivating the caring spirit of Christ among everyone within our community. Nostalgic about the formidable catholic faith handed down to us by our fore-parents; we proudly subscribe to the formation of our community, in the following memorandum. PATRON SAINT:
The patron saint of our community is Our Lady of Assumption. FEAST DAY:
In honor of our patron saint, our statutory feast day shall be the feast of the Assumption, celebrated on August 15th. PLACE OF WORSHIP:
