Coogs For Christ

The first two weeks of the semester are in the books, and we are grateful for the start we’ve had with Coogs for Christ! ❤️🤍

One of the biggest encouragements has been seeing a good number of freshmen and students who are new to Coogs for Christ connect with us. Students have stopped by our table, joined us for Monday night devotionals, come to Thursday Bible class, shared meals with us, and served alongside us as we fed the homeless at Impact Church of Christ.

For us, these first couple of weeks are about more than simply having good attendance at events. They are about building relationships and creating opportunities for students to encounter Jesus and find Christian community on campus.

Everything we do continues to center around our three goals:

Evangelism. Discipleship. Mission Mobilization.

We want to introduce students to Jesus, help them grow as disciples, and give them opportunities to use their lives in service to God and others.

We’re only two weeks in, but we are excited about the relationships that are already beginning to form. Please continue to pray for Coogs for Christ, the students we are meeting, and the work God is doing at the University of Houston.

The fall semester is here, and we’re excited to welcome students back to the University of Houston! 🐾❤️

The next couple of weeks will be all about connection—helping new and returning students find community, grow in their faith, serve others, and discover a place where they belong.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up with Coogs for Christ!

If you’re a parent, church member, alum, friend, or supporter, you can help us get the word out. If you know a student at UH, send them this calendar, tag them, or connect them with me. Sometimes one personal invitation is all it takes to help a student find their community on campus.

And whether you know a UH student or not, we’d appreciate your prayers as we begin a new semester—that God will open doors, bring students across our path, and use Coogs for Christ to make a difference on campus.

Faith. Community. Purpose.
That’s what we hope students find this semester.

☀️ Summer is winding down, and a new school year is almost here! 🐾
As we prepare for another year of ministry at the University of Houston, I’m excited about what God has ahead for Coogs for Christ.
One of the things that encouraged me this summer was seeing some of our students take opportunities to serve beyond our campus. A few spent part of their summer interning with churches, while others served alongside churches through mission trips. It may have only been a handful this year, but I love what it represents.
My hope is that we continue to become a ministry that not only reaches and disciples students while they are at UH, but also helps send them out to serve the Kingdom wherever God gives them an opportunity. I would love to see even more of that in the years ahead.
But right now, we’re getting ready to welcome a NEW group of Coogs! ❤️🐾

If you know someone who is starting at the University of Houston this fall—a freshman, transfer student, graduate student, or anyone else who will be new to UH—please send them my way! Tag them, message me, share this post with them, or make an introduction.
We would love the opportunity to welcome them, help them find community, and give them a place to grow in their relationship with God while they’re at UH.
I’ll be sharing more soon about some of the specific events and opportunities we have planned for the first few weeks of school.
