BREAK OUT

Micah 2:12-13 I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like sheep of the fold, Like a flock in the midst of their pasture; They shall make a loud noise because of so many people. The one who breaks open will come up before them; They will break out, Pass through the gate, And go out by it; Their king will pass before them, With the LORD at their head.

If I can find one word that describes 2021, it would be BREAK! One year ago I received a prophetic word from Will Hart. He laid hands on my head, and all he said was, “Break her, Lord!” Since my face always corresponds with my thoughts and emotions, I scrunched up my face and thought, “That doesn’t sound good! What in the world does that mean?”

It didn’t take long for me to find out. Enter 2021 and needless to say, it has been a crazy year! I didn’t mind 2020 at all! Since I’m a stay at home homeschool mom, 2020 didn’t change my life much at all. I just got more rest and watched some documentaries I’d been looking forward to, learning more about revival and our heroes of the faith. Then I went to Iris Global Harvest School 33 and everything changed. That word was spoken and the breaking began in my life, and in just about everyone’s life I know.

Hardly a day passed in 2021 without me getting news of another trauma or tragic event in a friend’s life. Just last week I was at my annual Brookwood Christmas luncheon, and we were saying that we couldn’t wait for 2021 to be over. 2022 has to be better! Yet we gave praise and honor and glory to God for sustaining us and changing us.

Pressing into the transformation is the key. The prophet Jeremiah talks about God tearing down structures before he builds them back up. We must embrace the process of change, and the breakdown is the first step. Old structures must be broken down, before the new ones can be erected. I read an article about a French artist, known as the “paving surgeon” who fills up sidewalk holes with mosaics, while people sleep. Isn’t that a beautiful picture of what God is doing? He has broken up the unfruitful parts of our lives, only to rearrange the pieces into a beautiful mosaic.

After I received the word from Will Hart, a friend had a dream about me breaking through a lake that had turned to ice. I went down deep into the mysteries of God. This is the transition step in between being broken and being built back up. We must break into the word and hear what the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives. We must go deeper and allow the transformation to take place. Break through the hardened mindsets, those areas where we are set in our ways, and allow the Holy Spirit to teach us the new thing, he wants us to know.

Immediately after this dream occurred, I received another prophetic word; and again it was short and simple: “Breakthrough!” The last step towards rebuilding and restoring is to breakthrough into the new: whatever that looks like. So much breaking, in so many ways, leads to massive breakthrough!

I have hope for 2022. I have confidence that the breaking up of this past year will result in breaking out and breaking through into a deeper realm of the Holy Spirit. If I can choose a word for 2022, it would be BUILD.

Step 1: Allow the Lord to BREAK off what he wants to tear down in our lives.
Step 2: BREAK out in praise and worship to him and go deeper into his word.
Step 3: BREAK through into the new structures and ministries with power and fresh fire 🔥

Jeremiah 31:28 And it shall come to pass, that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the LORD.

THE NAME

Matthew 6:9-13

In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

This morning I woke up super early, as is my habit, and immediately invited the Holy Spirit into my day, which is also a habit of mine. Asking the Lord how to pray today, and whom to pray for, I heard: “the Lord’s Prayer.” Therefore, I began praying the Lord’s Prayer, line by line, but from my heart:

Father, you are Holy.
Let your Kingdom come to earth.
Give us the Bread of Life, the Living Water, and the Wine of Joy.
Forgive our sins, and everyone who has sinned against us.
And deliver us from evil…
I concluded by habit, “In Jesus Name. Amen”

Later this morning, I was listening to a Bible study podcast on the Torah, which is also a habit of mine. Interestingly, the study was over the story of Samson’s birth in Judges chapter 13. In this story, the Angel of the Lord appears to Manoah’s wife- the future mother of Samson. The Angel of the Lord tells her that she will have a son who will deliver Israel from the Philistines. When she tells her husband, Manoah, about the encounter, he is distraught, because she forgot to ask the Angel’s name. In Hebrew culture, a “name” encompasses a person’s character and nature and is extremely important to know. The Torah teacher explained that we Christians say “in Jesus name” at the end of our prayers; however, we should rather be praying in the nature and character of the name of Jesus instead. That makes so much sense! If we develop the nature and character of Christ, how much more effective would our prayers be?

When the Angel of the Lord appears again, Manoah asks him his name. The Angel tells him that his name is wonderful, which in Hebrew is “piliy” meaning wonderful, secret, incomprehensible, extraordinary, and beyond understanding. How indescribable is the Holy Name of Jesus! Not only is the name of Jesus powerful, but his name is his nature and character; He is Wonderful! I am full of wonder as I contemplate the name and the person of Jesus. He causes my heart to be grateful and thankful all the more. Happy Thanksgiving!

Judges 13:18 And the Angel of the LORD said to him, “Why do you ask My name, seeing it is wonderful?”

NO!

Joshua 5:13-14 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand.
And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”
So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped…

Right before Joshua was to lead the children of Israel into many battles in order to procure the Promised Land, the Lord appears to Joshua. We understand that the Man was actually the Lord, because Joshua was allowed to fall down and worship him; whereas, this worship would not be permitted, if this man was an angel from the Lord. Having his sword drawn obviously frightened Joshua, who immediately asked him who’s side he is on: ours or theirs? The Lord’s answer to this question is “No!”

No? No, you’re not on my side? No, you’re not on my enemy’s side? Who’s side are you on? I admit I have been guilty of wanting the Lord to be on my side in my many battles. Also, because of so much division in our nation, I find myself wondering who’s side the Lord is on: Republicans? Democrats? Yet again, the Lord gives the exact same response: No!

The Lord is the Commander and Chief of the Hosts of Heaven. In the book of Joshua, this is his war- it’s a Holy war. The men of Israel all were required to be circumcised before participating in God’s Holy War. The initiation into the army of the Lord requires consecration and holy commitment. God, himself, is giving the instructions and the strategies that solidify winning the war. In our nation and in our lives, we sign up to fight in the Lord’s army, and we must do it his way. The spiritual battles are fought against principalities: good vs evil. The Lord and his heavenly hosts war against the darkness. And we can join him. Instead of asking if the Lord is on our side, let’s side with Him. Let’s get behind him as he leads the charge, according to his word of truth and righteousness. Has the Lord of Hosts ever lost a battle? No!

Deuteronomy 3:22 You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you.

BLOOD AVENGER

Exodus 13:2 Consecrate to Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine.

Leading up to Passover this year, I was meditating on the blood of Jesus. The all-encompassing powerful blood of the Lamb. Even today, the blood is on the forefront of my mind and thoughts. There is a red thread of blood requirements and sacrifices throughout scripture that must be studied, because there is so much power in the blood!

As I was concentrating on the blood, thinking of all the lambs slaughtered, and whose blood was spread on the Hebrew’s doorposts, I realized that God was planning to take only what was already his. The firstborn of both men and animals belonged to the Lord. He proclaimed in his word, that all firstborn were his, and must be redeemed. This was of course a prophetic precursor to Jesus being the Passover Lamb, whose blood rescues us from the wrath of God. Any firstborn male, either person or animal, who was not redeemed was to die.

Jesus is our blood avenger who is coming back, with his robe dipped in blood, to right every wrong and avenge us of all God’s enemies. In Hebrew, he is the “Goel Ha-dam” or blood avenger. In the Jewish culture, the blood avenger has a myriad of responsibilities. He is a near kinsman who is required to avenge the blood of a relative who was murdered. He also held the right to buy back property for a relative who could not afford to, and to buy back- or redeem- a relative who was sold into slavery for a debt.

As I was contemplating the Goel Ha-dam; Jesus as our redeemer, restorer, avenger, and all that entails, a friend sent me a YouTube video to watch about the blood covenant God made with Abraham. It was really deep, and if you’d like to watch it, it was called “The Dirt Remembers” by Robin Bullock on Elijah Streams. (Link posted below) One pertinent thing he talked about was the cutting of a covenant, which required blood to be shed, and sometimes the two parties would put their hands together and let the blood mix. Robin related this to Christians raising up their palms to God during worship.

The day after I watched this YouTube video, I was spending some time in worship. At one point I raised up my palms to Jesus, and when I looked at my hands, they each had the semblance of a bloodstain in the middle of each hand. Because of the blood shed on Calvary, we are in a blood covenant relationship with our King. The covenant still stands! Our blood avenger is returning to redeem and restore everything that pertains to each of us! He is the covenant keeper!

Revelation 19:11-13 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

ALL FOR YOU

1 Peter 2:3 as His divine power has given to us all things pertaining to life and godliness...

For a few weeks I’ve been meditating on the word “ALL” and how this word is used in scripture. I’m realizing more and more how much God loves his children, and how much he has already provided for us everything we could possibly need on this earth. We don’t need to beg, as a complete inheritance is already ours.

The problem is we sometimes don’t understand this truth. Jesus died to leave us his will and testament, which is our inheritance in him and from him. As the scripture above states, this includes ALL things that cause us to have an abundance of life and godliness. God is rich in mercy and grace to all:

Romans 10:12-13 for the same Lord over all is rich to ALL who call upon him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

This also includes the promise of the Holy Spirit:

Acts 2:39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to ALL who are afar off, as many as the Lord will call.

Did you know that God has also provided healing for all you sicknesses, as well as forgiveness for all your sins? It’s just a couple of the benefits of loving him, as he loves us:

Psalm 103:2-3 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not ALL his benefits: who forgives ALL your iniquities, who heals ALL your diseases.

There are so many benefits of serving the Lord, that there is not enough time and space to talk about them all; however, you can sum them up in this verse:

1 Corinthians 1:20 For ALL the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Which leads us to the next part- giving away what we have received; sharing the love, the peace, and the joy. Paul says, we should become all things to all men:

1 Corinthians 9:22 to the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become ALL things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

Let’s not forget his benefits, not forget to give him praise and thanks for all he has already done for us. I reiterate; he has done ALL FOR US.

Revelation 4:11 You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.

THE TRYST

Song of Songs 2:10 My beloved spoke, and said to me: Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away.

I learned a new word today from my daily devotional written by Chaim Bentorah: TRYST. My google dictionary app defines tryst as an appointment to meet at a certain time and place, especially one made secretly by lovers. Once a year, the writer of this particular blog goes away for a week for a silent retreat. During this time, he seeks the Lord in peace and tranquillity, and expects Jesus to meet with him there- as a friend and as a lover.

Next week I will have an opportunity of a lifetime to “come away” and seek the Lord. I literally felt Jesus, my Beloved, inviting me to meet with him in a secret location. I heard Jesus invite me to come away with him, and I accepted! But I also had to go through an application process and an interview, before I was officially accepted. The first question on the application, and on the zoom call, was, “Why do you want to do this?” I answered truthfully, “Because this is something I’ve always wanted to do!”

However, today I began asking myself that same question, “Why do you want to go?” This time my answer was slightly different. To be honest, I want to fall in love with Jesus all over again! I want to fall in love with him more! I want that “can’t eat, can’t sleep” in-love feeling. I remember once the Lord raptured me into heaven, and I felt the pure love and eternal joy that abides there. That was short-lived, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to walk in the Spirit so closely and completely, that we could experience this euphoria all the time?

I remember watching an interview with Heidi Baker and David Hogan. David was talking about how most of the time, he forgets to eat, or drink, or sleep. His son has to remind him! No one ever had to remind me to eat, unfortunately. If there truly exists another dimension of glory like that; I want it! I want to enter in! Imagine being so in love with Jesus, that our spirits leap with love and joy, even while journeying through this earth. Imagine the love of God overflowing so that we love others like ourselves, and even more.

I was reading a book today entitled “Visions Beyond the Veil” by H. A. Baker. Mr. Baker and his wife were missionaries to China, and they took in homeless children off the streets. The Holy Spirit visited these street beggars in such a powerful way, that they became prophetic and had many visions of heaven. I’m quoting from the book, “In New Jerusalem everybody is in love with everybody else. Not a flaw, not an imperfection, not an unlovely trait will detract from being perfectly and altogether in love with everybody.”

Doesn’t that just make you want to “fly away, Oh Glory” to heaven right now? Let’s go! But wait; didn’t Jesus say that the Kingdom of heaven is within us? Does that mean we can have that pure, ecstatic love NOW? HERE? I want to encourage each of you to take a tryst; go away with your lover, Jesus. Accept his invitation to come away with him and learn of him and become like him. After all, we become like those we hang around. Jesus is our greatest friend and sweetest lover. He is most beloved.

Song of Songs 2:13b-14 Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away!
O my dove, in the clefts of the rock,
In the secret places of the cliff,
Let me see your face,
Let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet,
And your face is lovely.

HOUSE OF WINE

Esther 5:6 At the banquet of wine the king said to Esther, “What is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your request, up to half the kingdom? It shall be done!”

This week the Lord has been inviting me to come to his banquet table, which in the Hebrew translation means “house of wine.” I remember going to a Touched By Grace weekend retreat, where a spontaneous song broke out, and we started singing, “Take me to the wine house.” Jesus “poured in the oil and the wine, the kind that restores my soul.” 🎶

It has been interesting that I’ve been thinking of wine this week, since I don’t drink wine or any alcohol at all. In fact, lately I’ve been feeling like a grape who is being pressed and squeezed until there is nothing left of me. But I know that the Bible says that wine makes our hearts glad. The pain of being squeezed dry results in many tears, but God wants to offer the new wine that makes the heart glad.

The wine, the oil and the bread of communion is the remedy for a broken heart. On Wednesday I joined my Intercessory prayer group, and we took communion together. I felt led to look up the definition of communion, and according to dictionary.com it means to share intimate thoughts and emotions. The Lord is sending an invitation to share intimacy with him and with others.

On Sunday, while worshipping at church, I saw Jesus like I’ve never seen him before. In a vision, I saw Jesus wearing a wine colored robe and dancing around the room. I kept looking at his robe, as it really stuck out to me. Later I realized that Jesus was in the house of wine. He had a glad heart and was inviting me to join him in dancing.

Later that same day, I recorded what the Lord was speaking to me in my journal. I closed the journal and put it in my purse. Several minutes later, I realized I forgot to write something, so I grabbed the journal and opened it to add a few words to that same page. BEHOLD! There was a wine colored gem laying on the page I had written. I am absolutely sure it wasn’t there before!

After church I visited a friend, who recently had a baby. We had a wonderful afternoon of fellowship and communion, sharing our intimate thoughts and feelings. Then as we were parting company, my friend presented me with a gift basket the Lord had instructed her to make for me. It was a New Wine basket and included all the things Jesus loves: all the necessary item for communion with the Lord. Needless to say, I fell in love with Jesus all over again and accepted his invitation to go to the House of Wine.

Psalm 104:15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart.

THE POTTER’S CLAY

Jeremiah 18:2-4 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

This past week, I took a couple days off and went away to the beach with a couple of friends. We got some much needed R&R, and specifically made time to worship and hear from the Lord. During our morning worship time, I had a vision of God as the potter. I was just a lump of clay. God threw me down onto the center of the potter’s wheel with such force, that the clay completely flattened out. OUCH!

We’ve been hearing the term “flatten the curve” frequently, because of coronavirus. However, the Lord wants to do the same in our lives in this season. The Holy Spirit needs to alter us in order for us to be ready and in tune with what God is doing in this new season. Therefore, we need to be renewed, recreated, or born-again-again, if you will.

In high school I took pottery, and it turned out to be one of my favorite classes. Just like in the vision, it’s important to throw the clay into the exact center of the potter’s wheel. If the clay is off-center, it will wobble and not be able to be shaped correctly. On top of that, the clay must be thrown with a force that causes it to stick to the center of the wheel. During my time in class, it took me several tries to get it right. But in the vision, God hit the mark on the first try. Do not fear, saints, because he knows exactly what he’s doing!

The Lord also said that our previous “shape” was sufficient for the past season; it served its purpose and fulfilled its assignment. But there are a few things that now need tweaking. Some of us have been a little misshapen, because of mindsets that didn’t exactly line up with God’s heart. Past pain and past hurts have poked holes in our once impenetrable pots. Our vessels must be reshaped and refilled with good gifts and holy fruit.

God must throw our clay down and reshape us, so he can fill us with the strength we need for this new season. It hurts. It doesn’t feel good, when he flattens us! But the end result will be a vessel of honor. We will be vessels that the Lord can fill with his holy wisdom and gifts and talents that will be fruitful in the end time harvest. So, let’s embrace the goodness and the severity of the Lord, and let him remake us and shape us into pots of clay that can hold the rushing water of the Holy Spirit without cracking or breaking. Put us in the kiln of holy fire, and fill us Lord to overflowing.

Jeremiah 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel (insert your name).

GO UP IN SMOKE

Leviticus 1:17b and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

This week I began studying the book of Leviticus, which begins by God giving the priests instructions concerning the burnt offerings. One particular phrase is repeated throughout the book of Leviticus, and three times in just the first chapter: “and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.” Wherever burnt offerings are mentioned, there are three important components: the wood for the fire, the animals for the offerings, and the smoke. The smoke is by far the most important element, according to my Torah podcast.

In the Hebrew Bible, Leviticus 1:17b reads as follows, “The cohen is to make it go up in smoke on the altar, on the wood which is on the fire, as a burnt offering; it is an offering made by fire, a fragrant aroma for ADONAI. The burnt offering, or Hebrew word “olah” literally means an offering that goes up (as does the smoke). The offering must be burned up entirely, and the smoke goes up to heaven as a sweet fragrance or a fragrant aroma. It is called an ascending offering. We must emphasize that 1. the offering must be burned up entirely, and 2. the smoke goes up.

Recently I felt the Lord leading me to go on Facebook live and have conversations with friends. This was the last thing I wanted to do, considering that during quarantine, it seemed that everyone and his grandma were going live on social media. Firstly, I felt the platform was already inundated, and secondly, I’m not a fan of seeing my own face on video. But the Lord was adamant, and he gave me specific instructions. Just like he gave the priests very specific instructions as to how to offer up sacrifices in the Old Testament, he also gave me specifics as to what sacrifice he was requiring of me. He wanted my friends and I to talk about our relationships with each other and to talk about what we’re hearing from the Holy Spirit in this season. Most of the relationships have been formed in our Glittering Sword community. And since the number 2 represents unity, he wanted us to go live every day at 2 pm for 22 days.

You may not consider this to be a great sacrifice, but presently, I’m still homeschooling my 10th grader, and my daughter, son in law and three of our grandkids are living with us, besides an adult daughter working from home. My house is loud and crazy at the moment, and lets not even mention that I’d have to fix my hair and put on makeup everyday! Funny thing though, as I was contemplating going live and the sacrifice I’d have to make, a friend of mine interrupted my thoughts with a phone call. She said, “I have a word for you from the Lord.” She proceeded to tell me how God was going to use me to speak life in the atmosphere, basically confirming everything God had just been telling me. Needless to say, I said Yes Lord!

After a few days, I read Leviticus chapter 1, and a really strange thing happened. As I was going to bed that night, I began to smell smoke. At first I panicked and called my husband to check the house for something on fire. Did someone leave the oven on? Was something burning? After much investigation, we realized nothing was on fire, and that I was the only person smelling smoke. Finally, it dawned on me that God had opened my spiritual sense of smell, and I was smelling the smoke of a burnt offering ascending up to heaven. God was acknowledging my obedience and letting me know he was pleased.

God will always require a complete sacrifice, a burnt offering, yet he will always be pleased with our obedience. The Lord will honor nothing less than our all, our willingness to be completely and entirely used up for him. But as the smoke of the sacrificial offering goes up, it becomes a fragrant aroma, a sweet smell in God’s nostrils.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

PRODIGAL PENTACOST

LUKE 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

This past Sunday was the feast of Pentacost, and I’ve heard many prophets and saints predict a shift in the Spirit on Pentacost Sunday. I have felt a shift happening as well. It feels as if a line has been drawn in the sand, and the Spirit is saying, “Who is on the Lord’s side?” And along with this the Lord has been emphasizing to me, in many ways, that NOW is the time for the prodigals to return.

A couple weeks ago I received a miracle of a prodigal returning to the Lord within my own family. This prophetic story of faith was immediately followed by several other events and conversations that confirmed to me, that this is what God is doing in this season. And I truly mean that it was only God’s doing, by his own power and by his own Spirit uniquely. My miracle was through absolutely no effort on my part, but included my obedience.

This miracle imparted into me a huge surge of faith and an anointing for prodigals. That next week just happened to be my turn to lead our group Bible study on zoom. And can you guess what the topic was? The title was “Hope is Waiting for You” or the story of the prodigal son from Luke chapter 15. I’m always amazed how God’s timing is perfection. That same week I was on another zoom call for a Shabbat, and one of the Intercessors commented that their focus for this Pentacost was for prodigals to come home.

My friend also shared a definition of the word prodigal, that I had never heard before. We have always thought of the word prodigal as a person who has strayed from the Lord. However, according to the google dictionary, “prodigal” means: 1. wastefully or recklessly extravagant, 2. giving or yielding profusely; lavish and 3. lavishly abundant; profuse. WOW! Yes, the son wasted his inheritance, but when the father saw him returning, he ran to meet him and kissed his neck. The father’s response was extravagant giving. Even the older brother was shocked at how lavishly his father spent his resources on the younger brother.

No matter how much and how for how long we waste our lives or our inheritance, our Father will always recompensate us, when we return to him. He gives to us abundantly, recklessly, with much more than we can ever imagine. He falls on our necks and kisses us and rejoices over us. There is always enough in our Father’s house. Not only just enough! God, our gracious and merciful Father, lavishes us with love and affection and Everything He Has is Ours!

Luke 15:31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
