Clear Lake Islamic Center (CLIC) was incorporated in 2000 as a non-profit religious organization to promote the practice of Islam and serve the Muslim Community of the Houston area as well as help them to meet their religious obligations. Since its inception, it has sponsored several dawah programs including but not restricted to Texas Dawah Convention.

Day of Ashura Iftar โ€” Thursday, June 25th, 2026

The Day of Ashura will be on Thursday, June 25th. It is highly recommended to fast on the 10th of Muharram (Ashura), ideally with the 9th or 11th. The best is to fast both the 9th and 10th, in accordance with the Sunnah.

The Prophet ๏ทบ said:
โ€œNext year, if Allah wills, we will fast on the ninth day.โ€
But he passed away before the next year came. (Muslim)

Ibn โ€˜Abbaas (RA) explained: โ€œHe meant, along with the tenth.โ€
And another narration: โ€œFast a day before it or a day after it.โ€ (Ahmad)
