“A pillar of our faith” “A beacon of love and light. ”Her spirit touched every life she encountered”. She has gone to her heavenly home. For over 60 years,{Mother Rubie Byrd} was an active member of her church and her passion for the Lord was always obvious. Sister Byrd was a constant presence in our Sunday school, Mission, Usher Board, Choir, guiding countless young minds with patience and wisdom. Even though Mother Byrd will be missed, there is something very appropriate about her departure, even as the author of Ecclesiastes indicated. ”There is a time to be born, and a time to die (see Ecclesiastes 3:2) It is appropriate because she had lived out a full, complete, life. She had accepted and known the love of God and of family. Her house was in order, she was ready to die. She was a Christian and she loved God!
Therefore I know in my heart that she is resting happily and rejoicing in union with our Lord and Savior and so even through all the tears we can find comfort in the knowledge that she is watching over us. She has gone to her heavenly home. Praying for peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart! We are deeply saddened but find solace in knowing she is now at peace with the Lord. Her legacy of faith will live on within our church and our heart!
Mother Rubie Byrd was a great woman!
