The son wasn't home, hadn't showered, and still smelled of the pig pen. He hadn't cleaned himself up or apologized yet. But the father saw his heart, felt compassion, and ran. Grace moved before he was presentable, proving its power when the heart turns.

Martha's issue wasn't what she had, but a lack of boundaries. This created no room for what truly mattered. Hebrews 12:1 reminds us to throw off all hindrances, not just sins. Some things overcrowd our lives – excessive commitments, relationships, habits, or obligations. We must discern the essential from the important. Like Mary, focus on the Master, not just the preparations.
