As the winter weather continues throughout our area, we encourage everyone to take all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being. Please limit travel when possible, stay informed of local weather updates.

We are reminded that caring for ourselves and one another is an expression of faithful stewardship. Let us continue to check in on our neighbors, especially the elderly and those who may be most vulnerable.

We are keeping everyone in prayer during this time, and may God’s protection and peace be with you all.

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray that the light of Christ fills your hearts and homes this Christmas season. May His love bring you peace, His presence bring you hope, and His promises bring you joy today and throughout the coming year.

May this holy season remind us of God’s greatest gift to the world and inspire us to live with compassion, generosity, and faith. We are grateful for each of you and the ways you faithfully serve and support the work of the Church.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and joyful Christmas.

“For unto us a child is born… and He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6

Around the District… Trinity East UMC - Houston – is celebrating 117 years of ministry. Rev. Melinda Owens faithfully serves as pastor.

Today’s worship was a powerful experience filled with uplifting praise and worship, followed by a joyful and inspiring message from Dr. Vincent Harris. The sermon, titled "The Assignment Is Joy", was rooted in Isaiah 35:10 and Matthew 11:2–10.

A powerful reminder: Joy matters. Joy is not about your deliverance—it’s about God’s deliverance.

As we enter this sacred season of gratitude, the Metro District would like to extend a warm Thanksgiving greeting to you and your loved ones. We give thanks to God for the faithful clergy, devoted church leaders, and vibrant congregations that make our district a beacon of hope, compassion, and servant leadership.

May your hearts be full, your homes be joyful, and your tables be surrounded by peace and love. Let us continue to walk together in ministry, grateful for all God has done and expectant for what He will do still.

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1

Happy Thanksgiving

Rev. Ed Jones, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Houston, announces the church's celebration of 160 years of ministry. Pastor Jones is pleased to share that the State of Texas, through the Texas Historical Commission, has formally recognized Trinity UMC as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. The sanctuary features beautiful, uniquely designed stained glass windows created by the renowned artist Jean Lacy. These windows depict the spread of Methodism throughout the United States, led by African American men and women of faith, the founding of the two universities mentioned above, and additional scenes that highlight African American history in Houston and the Nation, emphasizing faith and resilience. These artistic and historic elements are part of what led to Trinity’s selection as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Come join the
