The grill was fired up and the food was unforgettable. 🔥

CBY's Father's Day Grilling Class with Chef Damen was a delicious success — Rosemary Garlic Lamb Chops, Coca-Cola Grilled Chicken, Peach Cobbler, and so much more. Every dish was a hit, and participants walked away with serious new skills and very full plates.

Big thanks to Chef Damen for sharing his creativity — and to the rain for staying out of the way! ☔✌️

🏛️ Museum Monday

This week we're featuring a charming bronze sculpture: Hassidic Boy by Moshe Oved (1885–1958), created in England around 1930.

Oved was England's greatest Judaica artisan of the first half of the 20th century, working across a remarkable variety of genres. The Kaplan Collection is home to numerous works by Oved — including a chess set with pieces inspired by the Book of Esther and a beautifully crafted mezuzah.

Harmonia has sung at Shabbat services just twice, and this past Friday was one of those nights.

Led by Music Director Julie Sacks, our volunteer choir filled Freedman Levit with beautiful harmony at Shabbat Renewal. They put in the rehearsals and the hard work every week, and that dedication is what you hear in this video.

Happy Birthday to Rabbi Steven Morgen! 🎉

Though he retired a year ago, Rabbi Morgen never really left — and we wouldn't have it any other way. As Rabbi Emeritus, he continues to teach in our adult learning program and lead his thriving Conversion Class, sharing his wisdom with our community week after week.

Anyone who knows Rabbi Morgen knows his smile — the biggest one around, and the kind that can lift an entire room. Kind, brilliant, and beloved by clergy, staff, and congregation alike, he is simply one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

And as this photo proves, he and Cantor Diane Dorf know how to celebrate in style. 🪅

This weekend we celebrated our final Bar Mitzvah of the 2025–2026 school year! Mazel tov to every Bar and Bat Mitzvah from this past year! 🎉 Watching each of you step up to the bimah — after all the hard work and dedication it took to get there — and make your families, your tutors, your clergy, and your whole CBY family so proud.
