HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

This weekend is our nation's 244th birthday. While the USA is far from perfect, anyone who has spent time traveling abroad is quick to acknowledge that we have a degree of liberty most people elsewhere do not enjoy.

Because of our problems, perhaps at long last our nation is beginning to realize that without God, we cannot make it. One of the principle tenets of scripture is that man cannot save himself. People need the Lord!

That's why we are having in-person services. You might have wondered why. Many people carry burdens very heavy to bear. They struggle with grief, pain and other concerns that are pressing and difficult. That is why as wonderful as streaming services are, it isn't enough for them. Recognizing the power of corporate worship, the Bible admonished us to not forsake doing so. COVID-19 has challenged this.

Fortunately, as I mentioned yesterday, our governmental leadership recognizes this, and if we follow the guidelines they have put in place, agrees that we can worship together. That is why we are having in-person services tomorrow at 9:00, 11:00 and Spanish at 2:15.

Please follow all the guidelines including the wearing of masks. We have them for you if you need them. Also if you are a senior, have an underlying condition and/or ill, please enjoy the streaming at home and by all means stay safe.

THERE IS A SPIKE IN HARRIS COUNTY

Let's talk about this. With an increased number of cases in our area, what is the best way for us to respond at Inspire?

We are already having to learn how to live, work, shop, exercise, go about our lives and even walk the dog with adjustments that might not go away anytime soon. Things like wearing masks, social distancing and other safety measures, while being inconvenient, do help prevent the spread of disease.

I realize how cumbersome impositions like these are, but they have proven that we can live safely when these precautions are observed. It's because people ignore them that the rate of infection increases.

Should we have in-person services? We certainly want everyone to be safe. The enemy knows the transformative power of corporate worship and hopes to rob us of this. People have begged us to please not deprive them of this privilege.

Because the measures we have been asked to follow do work successfully, it seems that if we can go to our jobs, shop, eat in restaurants and do everything else that people are doing, we should be able to go to church safely as long as we follow the same protocols. Why not learn how to worship observing them as well? That way we can honor God with regard to everyone's well being. Therefore we request that everyone wear a mask in church and will even provide one for you if you don't have one.

Until further notice we will celebrate our Sunday services at 9:00 am, 11:00 am and 2:15 pm. All other services and events will be available online.

As you may be aware, we are slowly reopening our building and doing a soft relaunch of our services. That includes the Saturday Night Service. We will be having Service this Saturday May 9th in the Chapel

Prayer Drive-Thru and Donation of Masks for Inspire Members

On Saturday, April 11th, we prayed for
more than 1,000 of our people--in their cars--at Inspire Church.

We also donated over three thousand masks to our members.
But we still have more masks available. If you should need a free mask,
please come to the church during our regular business hours
