The Daniel Fast Guidelines
Try not to get too hung up on what you should and shouldn’t eat. Remember, the most important part of the fast is that you deny yourself physically so that you may seek the Lord in prayer and grow closer to Him. These food guidelines are meant to be just that – a guide. They are given to help you create boundaries for your fast.

The Daniel Fast Food List
*All fruit – fresh, frozen, dried, juiced, or canned.
*All vegetables – fresh, frozen, dried, juiced, or canned.
*All whole grains – amaranth, barley, brown rice, oats, quinoa, millet, and whole wheat.
*All nuts & seeds – almonds, cashews, macadamia nuts, peanuts, pecans, pine nuts, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and sunflower seeds; unsweetened almond milk. Nut butters are also included.
*All legumes – canned or dried; black beans, black eyed peas, cannellini beans, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), great northern beans, kidney beans, lentils, pinto beans, and split peas.
*All quality oils – avocado, coconut, grapeseed, olive, peanut, sesame, and walnut.
*Beverages – distilled water, filtered water, and spring water.
*Other – unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, or soy milk; herbs, spices, salt, pepper, unsweetened coconut flakes, seasonings, Bragg’s Liquid Aminos, soy products, and tofu.

Foods to Avoid on the Daniel Fast
*All meat & animal products – bacon, beef, buffalo, eggs, fish, lamb, poultry, and pork.
*All dairy products – butter, cheese, cream, milk, and yogurt.
*All sweeteners – agave nectar, artificial sweeteners, brown rice syrup, cane juice, honey, molasses, raw sugar, syrups, stevia, and sugar.
*All leavened bread & yeast – baked goods and Ezekiel bread (if it contains yeast and honey).
*All refined & processed food products – artificial flavorings, chemicals, food additives, preservatives, white flour, and white rice.
*All deep-fried foods – corn chips, French fries, and potato chips.
*All solid fats – lard, margarine, and shortening.
*Beverages – alcohol, carbonated drinks, coffee, energy drinks, herbal tea, and tea.

According to Psalms 35:27, Your word says, “Let them shout for joy and rejoice who favor my vindication, and they will say continually the LORD be magnified, who delights in the PROSPERITY of His servant”. LORD that tells me that you enjoy seeing your children live PROSPEROUS lives!

Your word also declares in Psalms 84:11. “The LORD God is a sun and shield: that You, oh God, bestow favor and honor, and that You should withhold no good thing from us who walk upright with You”!

LORD we ask for PROSPERITY in our finances, on our jobs, in our homes; that we are Blessed everywhere we go!
In our Health and Wealth!

Father in Heaven, we acknowledge Your power, Your wisdom, and Your awesomeness!

Our Father and God, according to Philippians 4:19, Your word says, “You will provide all our needs according to your riches and Glory in Christ Jesus”!

Father, we believe by Faith, just as the sparrow doesn’t worry for food or shelter, or about tomorrow. We will not worry, because Your word tells us in Matthew 21:22, “Whatever we ask in Prayer, we will receive”!

If we have Faith, we will petition You oh God that You honor Your word. We declare and decree by faith, that all our needs, our family needs, and our Church needs will be met according to Your Holy words!

Dear God, according to Isaiah 54:17, You said, “No weapon Absolutely, No weapon that comes against me will succeed or prosper”! Your word also says in Psalms 46:1, “That You oh God are our refuge and strength; a very Present help in time of trouble”.

God, according to Proverbs 18:10, Your name is a strong tower. We can, my family, my church; we can all who are Godly run to You and we find safety! LORD, PROTECT us!

Be a fence all around us every day!
PROTECT our Pastor and his family.
PROTECT us and our family.
PROTECT us all from the hand and snares of the enemy. LORD, even PROTECT us from the evil we bring upon ourselves!

Dinner/Lunch Recipe # 9
Scampi Rice (No Shrimp)

Ingredients

• 2 ½ cups vegetable broth
• 1 cup brown rice
• ½ cup onion, minced
• ¼ cup celery, minced
• ¼ cup green bell pepper, minced
• 1 garlic clove, minced
• 3 tbsp butter
• ¼ tsp paprika
• ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
• ½ tsp dried oregano
• ½ tsp dried basil
• Sea Salt & pepper to taste
• For the shrimp:
• 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
• 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

1. In a pot over medium heat, add butter, onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic.
2. Saute the vegetables for about 5 minutes, and then add the seasonings.
3. Stir in the brown rice and toss well to coat.
4. Once the grains began to cook, stir in the chicken broth.
5. Cover and let simmer to cook for about 15-20 minutes.
6. Once cooked and all the liquid has absorbed, fluff with a fork.

Dinner/Lunch Recipe #8

Cabbage

When you add potato and spices, it makes a pleasing dish indeed.

Tip: Do not add liquid, as the cabbage and potatoes release plenty on their own.

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup olive oil
• 4 carrots, thinly sliced
• 1 onion, thinly sliced
• 1 teaspoon sea salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
• 1/2 head cabbage, shredded
• 5 potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cube

Directions (Prep Time: 25 m Cook Time: 40 m Ready In: 1 h 5 m)

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the carrots and onion in the hot oil about 5 minutes. Stir in the salt, pepper, cumin, turmeric, and cabbage and cook another 15 to 20 minutes. Add the potatoes; cover. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until potatoes are soft, 20 to 30 minutes.
