إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

There’s no all-encompassing term that can describe Naseem Auntie. The road-trip to Memphis was put together through dedication & care, and no one showcased those characteristics more than she did. Without her, none of the 100+ people we brought to Memphis Islamic Center — her home — would have had consistent meals to keep them well-fed and comfortable for their entire time there. After the trip was wrapped up, we found it appropriate to anoint her with our very own “THE Nicest Person Ever in the Whole Entire World” Award.

Naseem Auntie put so much effort into her community, and she watched it grow from a city with no masjid to a city hosting a beautiful, unparalleled house of Allah. We asked her how long she’d been doing this… 50 years is quite the number to hear when a majority of your group has barely entered their 20s. This gentle woman welcomed our brothers with open doors, a kind heart, and a warm smile. She cared for our group like nothing we had ever seen anyone care before. It’s one thing to see a person set up meals for your group when you are visiting their masjid… it’s a layer more beautiful when you see that same person watching your programs with a smile. One late night, when we were finishing up some planning, we found her still preparing, ready to come back in just a few hours to set breakfast for us. We had a wonderful conversation, sharing some laughs, before insisting that we wanted to bear some of her workload:

“Please, let us help you! You’re doing so much for us.”

“No. You are all like my kids.”

‎إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

What a ride.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaruhu

The TexasMuslimBros road-trip to was everything we could have hoped for— and more. What started as an idea by Shaykh to take the shuyookh from to for a program resulted in two bus-loads of young Muslim brothers from Texas embarking on the journey of a lifetime.

We have so many to thank! Shaykh , Shaykh Kamal El-Mekki, Shaykh Samer Altabaa, and for joining us on our journey. Sheikh Zaid, who welcomed us at for a welcome rest-stop during our trip. Shaykh , Shaykh .qadhi, Shaykh .basyouni, Shaykh , Shaykh , & Shaykh for giving their time to us and teaching us more about our deen in a personal setting. It was beyond incredible to speak with our 3ulama’ without the barriers that come with large conferences.

Of course, Shaykh , thank you SO much for hosting us with your beautiful community in Memphis. You opened up so many doors for us, and you gave us the keys by which to create core memories that will live with us for the rest of our lives.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan

The Texas Muslim Bros are at a turning point, and we’re about to step it up a gear. Proving to ourselves that we have the ability to manage and create an interstate event was what we needed to gain the confidence to advance to the next level. If you’ve been here a while, you know what’s coming. If you’re new here… come along for the ride.

Salam everyone happy to say The Big Masjid Night Out was a huge success alhamdulliah! Shout out to everyone for pulling up from all around Texas and for flying in from California and Canada for the event!
