We know, we know, it's hard to even fathom the words "Back to School" are back in our vocabulary. That's why we want to kick off that season with something fun for your kiddos in LakeKids. Please join us THIS Sunday as American Ninja Warrior, Nate Burkhalter, shares about his life as a follower of Jesus and the experiences he had competing in America Ninja Warrior! We would love for you to join us in praying for our students as they leave for Camp Overflow today. Events like camp are times where God can both reveal himself to them in new ways and also plant truths that could forever be in their hearts. We believe praying over them for these things is monumental over the next few days as they encounter Him.

We LOVED celebrating our Risen Savior with your kids Sunday. There was smashed bunnies, shaved balloons, tossed eggs, LakeKids-led worship through song, and most importantly, learning about the love that Jesus showed by dying on the cross. Ask them about that time that Mrs. Pierce "tripped" into the lamb cake! Go on, do it!

On Sunday, we encouraged your LakeKids to think of one person they could invite to Resurrection Sunday . We discussed that sometimes people may not want to come on a "regular Sunday" but that they will come on Easter! Guess what? They did not hesitate to blurt out the names of their friends who they wanted to hear about Jesus. Kids are awesome like that, aren't they? They're eager and willing to share Jesus without hesitation and "adult" reservations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We want to encourage you, parents, to follow up on this. Ask them if they've asked their friends to come. Pray for their lost friends with them. Invite the parents of those friends, too! We can't wait to see them and their friends Sunday!

We believe creating a strong foundation in Christ involves memorizing scripture. That's why we sent home these bookmarks with your LakeKid on Sunday! We encourage them to put them in a place where they will see them often and practice them daily!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We offer them prizes and tickets as a way to encourage them, but we want to encourage you, too, parents! Join them in memorizing this verse over the next few weeks. Recite it together as a family--in the car, at dinner, while doing a bedtime routine, or anywhere that works for you. We are praying that you will see the fruit in your own life as well as theirs from learning His Word!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We've made it a tradition at West Lake Church to encourage our kids and families to follow the schedule and stories in the Jesus Storybook Bible each year during Advent. The stories are beautifully written and illustrated and point to the coming Savior from the beginning to end.

Today begins the first day of the Advent season. We would love for you to join us again this year as we follow this schedule with our kids to refocus our hearts and minds on the coming Savior during this busy season.

If you do not have a Bible, we have plenty to share. Please contact us or leave a comment, and we would love to share one with you!
