Menaissance: The Cost of Easy: The Comfortable Man and What He’s Losing

Assalamualaykum Brothers,

Join us this Sunday, May 3rd as we discuss The Cost of Easy.

Most of us don’t want to admit it: comfort might be what’s holding us back. It’s counterintuitive to do hard things because everyone likes easy. Our world is now engineered for ease. Are you the version of the man who has arranged his entire life to avoid difficulty and discomfort? Do you avoid hard work, difficult conversations, and the challenging seasons of life?

Come reflect with us.

🌙 Our community has grown and we invite you to join our next chapter. Our newest documentary, Story of the Hearts: The Next Chapter for Ibrahim Center, debuted last month on the Night of Glory and captures the heart of

With deep gratitude to Allah and the love of this community, Ibrahim Center has found a new home. What began years ago as a small gathering rooted in faith, friendship, and sacred companionship has continued to grow — and now we have the opportunity to care for and cultivate a space where that growth can flourish for generations to come.

Our new home gives us room to plant what our hearts have long dreamed of — a children’s courtyard, gardens, places to sit in suhba, a welcoming coffee space for conversation, areas for learning, prayer, and community life. It is more than land and buildings; it is a place where faith, service, and companionship can take deeper root.

🤲🏽 Your support helps us sustain programs as we transition to our new location:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Monthly Family Nights and Weekly Programming
📚 Sunday School with Little Stewards (ages 3–10)
☕ A Co-working Space, Seminary Library & Coffee Shop

✨ IIC is more than a masjid—it’s a template for a spiritually rooted, healthy community in America.

💛 Please watch, donate, and share with friends, family, and those who care about building spaces of belonging.

Menaissance: Attention & Distraction

Assalamu Alaikum Brothers,

Allah ﷻ says:

﴿يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ﴾

“He knows the stealthy glance of the eyes and what the hearts conceal.” (Qur’an 40:19)

In a time when our attention is constantly pulled in every direction, it is worth pausing to ask ourselves some difficult but necessary questions. These are not meant to condemn. The goal is to bring awareness, because what we are unaware of, we cannot change.

Answer these honestly:

1. Do you sleep with your phone beside you?
2. Is it the first thing you touch in the morning?
3. Do you reach for it when you feel pressure, sadness, or conviction?
4. Have you lost hours to scrolling, refreshing, or clicking?
5. Do you get pulled into distractions when you only meant to check one thing?
6. Does low battery or no signal make you uneasy?
7. Do you check it in front of your spouse, your children, or your parents?
8. Do you consume things in private that you would not want exposed?Does the sound of a new message immediately pull your attention?
9. I Do you feel the urge to check it right now?
10. If even a few of these resonate, then this session is meant for you.

*We will be gathering this Sunday morning at 9:30 AM sharp at IIC. 📍Ibrahim Center — 7563 South Freeway*

Thank you,
IIC Team
