‼️Pastors and Leaders‼️
Something I’ve been thinking about really heavily recently that is hurting many churches…. regarding people who serve/volunteer at church, more specifically and commonly nowadays with musicians and leaders…
The reason why we struggle with people who “serve/volunteer” at church is because we are looking for people to serve out of *talent* instead of *thanksgiving.*
When people serve out of *talent*, they are like a house built on sand, easily swayed and eventually falls.
When people serve out of *thanksgiving*, they are like a house built on a rock. Rain and wind beat against the house, yet it does not fall. Matthew 7:24-27
The only interpretation for this illustration in the Bible is our walk with Christ, our dwelling in his word and teachings, and the power of thanksgiving and testimony.
When we serve with thanksgiving, we step into our anointing.
When someone has a grateful heart, and a spirit of thanksgiving, you will never have to beg them to serve and you will never have to beg them to stay.
In summary:
Talent + Thanksgiving = Anointing
Anointing + Holy Spirit = The power to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10
There is no point in begging people with good talent to serve if people aren’t being healed, addictions broken, chains broken, demons casted out, generational curses deleted.
I don’t want people to serve because “we need help!”
I want people to serve because they truly love God!”
If you want to fill those empty roles at your church, inspire a spirit filled church and then teach the task. You’ll be surprised to see who steps up, and who steps out.
