With heavy hearts, we at I Belong Christian Family Church extend our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters of Greater New Birth Church in Milwaukee, WI on the passing of Min. Cortez Burt.

Cortez was more than a musician; he was a true vessel of God’s presence. His gift made room for worship, his hands brought life to every note, and his passion for music left an unforgettable imprint on everyone blessed to experience it. He was a pillar, a teacher, and a light in the kingdom.

Though our hearts are saddened, we find comfort in knowing that his music still echoes in eternity. His legacy will continue to inspire, uplift, and remind us all of the power of praise.

We are praying for strength, peace, and comfort for the Burt family and the entire Greater New Birth Church family during this difficult time.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” — Psalm 116:15

Bring them to church.

Even if they’re coloring on the bulletin.
Even if they’re whispering too loud.
Even if they’re laid out across your lap, fully asleep before the sermon hits the second point.

Bring them anyway.

Faith isn’t built in perfect silence.
It’s built in repetition. In rhythm. In showing up.

Let them see hands raised.
Let them hear worship.
Let them be surrounded by people who love Jesus and aren’t ashamed of it.

They don’t have to “get it” today.
Seeds don’t sprout the same day they’re planted.

One day they’ll remember the songs.
The prayers.
The feeling.

So bring them.
Messy, wiggly, tired… and all.
