لما نزلت الى الموت، أيها الحياةُ الخالدة، أمتَ الجحيم بسنى لاهوتك. ولما أقمتَ الاموات من تحت الثرى، صرخت جميعُ قوات السماويين: أيها المسيحُ ألهنا، يا مُعطي الحياة، المجد لك.

Troparion of St Barbara: Let us praise the most venerable Barbara, who pierced the enemy's net and, like a trapped ostrich, escaped from it through the strength-giving weapon of the cross.

لنُكرِّمنَّ القديسةَ بربارة، فقد كسرت هذه الجزيلة الوقار فخاخ العدو، ونجت منها كالعصفور بمعونة الصليب وسلاحه
Kontakion:
O never failing Protectress of Christians and their ever-present intercessor before the Creator, despise not the petitions of us sinners, but in your goodness extend your help to us who call upon you with confidence. Hasten, O Mother of God, to intercede for us, for you have always protected those who honor you.

يا نصيرةَ المسيحيينَ التي لا تُخزى، ووسيطتَهم الدائمةَ لدى الخالق، لا تعرضي عن أصواتِ الخطأة الطالبين اليكِ. بل بما انكِ صالحة، بادري الى معونتنا، نحن الصارخينَ اليكِ بإيمان: هلمي الى الشفاعة، وأسرعي الى الابتهال، يا والدةَ الالهِ المحاميةَ دائماً عن مكرميكِ.

Epistle: Romans 5:1-10

My strength and my courage is the Lord, and He has been my Savior.
Stichon: The Lord has chastised me through His teaching, yet He has not delivered me to death.
Reading from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans
Brethren, now that we have been justified by faith, let us have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have access by faith to that grace in which we stand and exult in the hope of God’s glory.
And not only this, but we exult also in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces endurance, and endurance challenge, and challenge hope, and hope does not deceive, for God’s love is poured forth in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, Who has been given to us.
For why did Christ die at the appointed time for the wicked while we were still weak? Hardly would someone die for a just man; perhaps someone would have the courage to die for a virtuous man. But God proves His love for us, since Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Much more now that we are made just in His blood, shall we be saved by Him from wrath.
For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled with God through His death, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.

الربُ قوَّتي وتسبيحي لقد كان لي خلاصاً
أَدبَّني الربُّ تأْديباً، والى الموتِ لم يُسْلمْني
الرسالة (رومة 5: 1-10)
يا إِخوة، إِذ قد بُرّرنا بالأيمان، لنا سلامٌ لدى اللهِ بربّنا يسوعَ المسيح الذي نلنا به أيضاً الدخولَ بالأيمان الى هذه النعمة، التي نحنُ مقيمون فيها، ومفتخرونَ في رجاءِ مجدِ الله. وليس هذا فقط، بل نفتخرُ أَيضاً في الشدائد، عالمينَ بأَنَّ الشدَّة تُنِشءُ صبراً والصبرُ امتحاناً، والامتحانُ رجاءً، والرجاءُ لا يُخزى، لان محبَّةَ اللهِ قد أُفيضت في قلوبِنا بالروحِ القدسِ الُمعطى لنا. لان المسيحَ، ونحنُ بعد ضعفاء، قد ماتَ في الاوانِ عن الكافرين. ولا يكادُ أحدٌ يموت عن بارّ، فلعلّ أحداً يُقدِمُ أن يموتَ عن صالح. أَما اللهُ فيُبرهنُ على محبته لنا، بأَنَّ المسيح، ونحن بعد خطأَة، قد ماتَ عنَّا، فبالأحرى كثيراً اذ قد بُرّرِنا بدمِه نخلصُ به من الغضب. لانا إذا كنَّا قد صولحنا مع الله بموتِ ابنِه ونحنُ أَعداء، فبالأَحرى كثيراً ونحنُ مصاَلحونَ نخلُص بحياِته.

Gospel: Matthew 6:22-33
The Lord said: The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. Therefore, if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness itself! No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will stand by the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore, I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, what you shall eat and drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall wear. Is not life a greater thing than food, and the body than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you of much more value than they? But which of you by being anxious about it can add to his stature a single cubit? And as for clothing, why are you anxious? See how the lilies of the field grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these. But if God so clothes the wild flower of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more you, O you of little faith! Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or, ‘What shall we drink?’, or, ‘What are we to wear?’ (For all these things the Gentiles seek); for your heavenly Father knows you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His justice, and all the rest shall be given you besides.”

الانجيل (متى 6: 22-33)
قال الرب: سراجُ الجسدِ العين. فإِنْ كانتْ عينُك بسيطةٌ، فجسدُك كلُه يكون نيّراً. وإِنْ كانت عينُك شريرةٌ، فجسدُكَ كلُه يكون مُظلِماً. وإذا كان النورُ الذي فيكَ ظلاماً، فالظلامُ كم يكون مُدلَهِماً؟ لا يستطيعُ أحدٌ أَن يَعبُدَ ربَّين. فإِنهُ إِما يُبغضُ الواحدَ ويحبُّ الآخر، أَو يُلازمُ الواحدَ ويَرْذلُ الآخر. لا تَقدِرون أَنْ تعبُدوا اللهَ والمال. فلِهذا أَقولُ لكم: لا تهتمُوا لنفسكُم بما تَأكلون، بما تشربون، ولا لجسَدِكم بما تلبَسون. أَليستِ النَّفسُ أَفضلَ من الطعام، والجسدُ افضلَ من اللباس؟ أنظروا الى طيورِ السماء، فإنها لا تزرع ولا تحصُدُ ولا تجمعُ في الأهراء، وأَبوكم السماويُّ يقوتها. أَفلستمُ أَنتُم أَفضلَ منها؟ مَن منكم يَقدِرُ باهتمامه، أن يزيدَ على قامتهِ ذراعاً واحدة؟ ولماذا تَهتمُونَ باللباس؟ تأَملوا زنابقَ الحقل كيف تَنمو. إِنها لا تَتعَبُ ولا تَغزِل. وأَنا أَقولُ لكم: إِنَّ سليمانَ نفسهُ في كلّ مجدِهِ لم يَلبسْ كواحدةٍ منها. فإِذا كانَ عُشبُ الحقل الذي يكون اليومَ، وغداً يُطرحُ في التَّنُّور، يلبسه اللهُ هكذا، أَفلا يُلبسكُم بالأَحرى أنتُم يا قليلي الايمان. فلا تهتَمُوا إِذَن قائِلين، ماذا نَأْكُل، أَو ماذا نَشرَب، أَو ماذا نَلبَس. فإِنَّ هذا كلَّهُ تطلُبُه الأُمَم، وأَبوكُمُ السماويُّ يَعلَمُ أَنَّكُم تَحتاُجون الى هذا كُلهِ. بَلِ اطلُبوا أَوَّلاً ملَكوتَ اللهِ وبِرَّهُ، وهذا كلُهُ يُزادُ لكُم.

After the stone was sealed by the Jews * and the while the soldiers were watching Your spotless body, * You rose, O Savior, on the third day, * bestowing life to the world. * Therefore, the heavenly powers cried out to You, O Giver of life: * “Glory to Your resurrection, O Christ! * Glory to Your kingdom! * Glory to Your economy, * O You who alone are the lover of mankind!”

إن الحجر ختمه اليهود، وجسدكَ الطاهرَ حرسه الجنود. لكنكَ قمتَ في اليوم الثالث، أيها الخلص، واهباً للعالم الحياة. لذلك قواتُ السماواتِ هتفت اليكَ، يا مُعطيَ الحياة: المجدُ لقيامتك أيها المسيح. المجدُ لملكِك. المجدُ لتدبيركَ، يا محبَ البشر وحدك.

Troparion of the Divine Body: (Tone 1)
Christ, having loved His own, loved them until the end and gave them His Body and Blood as food and drink. Wherefore let us offer them our veneration and say with fear: “O Christ, glory to Your presence, glory to Your compassion, glory to Your condescension: for You alone are the Lover of Mankind.”

أيها المسيح، لا تستنكف من تناولي الآن الخبز جسدَك ودمك الالهي. ولا يكنِِ اشتراكي أنا الشقيَ في أسرارك الطاهرةِ والرهيبةِ أيها السيدُ للدينونة. بل فليصر لي للحياةِ الابديةِ الخالدة.

Epistle: 2nd Sunday after Pentecost - Romans 2: 10-16
PROKIMENON: (Tone 1) Psalm 32:22,1 May Your kindness, O Lord, be upon us, for we have hoped in You.

Reading from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans
Brethren, glory, honor and peace to everyone who does good works, first to the Jew, then to the Greek, since with God there is no favoritism.
For all those who have sinned without the Law will perish without the Law, and all those who have sinned under the Law will be judged under the Law. (Before God, indeed, it is not those who hear the Law who are just, but those who follow the Law who will be justified. When the Gentiles who do not have the Law do by nature what the Law commands, while they do not have the Law, they are their own law: they show the work of the Law written in their hearts. The conscience bears witness to them, even when conflicting thoughts accuse or defend them) on the day when God will judge the hidden secrets of men according to what I preach, through Jesus Christ.

لتكن يا ربُّ رحمتُك علينا، بحسب اتكالِنا عليك
ابتهجوا أَيها الصديقونَ بالربّ، بالمستقيمينَ يليقُ التسبيح
الرسالة (رومه 2: 10 – 16)
يا إخوة، المجدُ والكرامةُ والسلامُ لكلِّ من يصنعُ الخير، لليهوديِ أَولاً ثم لليوناني. إِذ ليس عند اللهِ محاباةُ وجوه. لان كلّ الذين خطئوا وليس عندَهم ناموس، فبدون ناموسٍ أَيضاً يهلكون، وكلُّ الذين خطئوا وعندهم ناموس، فبمقتضى الناموس يُدانون. لأنه ليس السامعونَ للناموسِ هم أبرارٌ عند الله، بل انما العاملونَ بالناموس يُبَرَّرون. فإِن الاممَ الذين ليس عندَهم ناموس، حينما يعمَلون طبيعياً بما هو في الناموس، فهؤلاءِ الذين ليس عندَهم ناموس، يكونون ناموساً لأنفسهم. وُيظهرونَ عملَ الناموس المكتوبِ في قلوبهم، وضميرُهم شاهد، وأَفكارُهم تشكو وتحتجُّ فيما بينَها، يومَ يدينُ الله سرائرَ الناس، بحسب انجيلي بيسوعَ المسيح.

Gospel: 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, Matthew 4: 18-23 (Call of the First Disciples)
At that time as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen). And He said to them, “Come, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” And at once they left the nets and followed Him. And going farther on, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them. And immediately they left their nets and their father, and followed Him. And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Good News of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people

الإنجيل (متى 4: 18 – 23)
في ذلكَ الزمان، فيما كان يسوعُ ماشياً على شاطئِ بحرِ الجليل، أَبصرَ أَخَوَين، سِمعانَ المدعُوَّ بطرُسَ وأَندَراوُسَ أَخاه، يُلقيانِ شبكةً في البحر، لأَنَّهُما كانا صَيَّادَين. فقالَ لهُما: إتبَعاني فأَجعلَكُما صَيادَيِ الناس. فلِلوَقتِ ترَكا الشّبِاكَ وتَبِعاه. وجازَ من هُناك، فرأَى أَخوينِ آخَرين، يَعقوبَ بنَ زبَدى ويوحنَا أَخاه، في سفينةٍ معَ أَبيهما زبدى، يُصْلحانِ شِباكهُما. فدعاهُما. وللوقتِ ترَكا السفينةَ وأَباهُما وتَبِعاه. وكانَ يسوعُ يَطوفُ في الجليل كلّهِ، يُعلّمُ في مجامِعِهم، ويَكرزُ ببشارةِ الملكوت، ويَشفي كلَّ مرَضٍ وكلَّ ضُعفٍ في الشعب.

Divine Body Hirmos: (Tone 6)
Let all the souls of the faithful be gladdened and glorified as they receive the body of Christ their Savior: for He has satisfied their hunger with his heavenly goods and granted them a tremendous favor by offering Himself as a Sacrifice of Redemption for their sake. Wherefore, together with the Mother of God, we send up glory to Him.

فلتتعظمْ نفوس المؤمنين جميعها، ولتبتهج بتقبيلِ جسد المسيح مخلصِها. لأنه أشبعَ من الخيرات السماويةِ جوعها. وقد عظمَ رحمتهُ معها، وقدم ذاَته ذبيحةَ الفداءِ عنها. ولذلك نحنُ مع والدةِ الاله، نسبحهُ معظمين.

Antiphon Prayer:
O Lord, Lover of Mankind, who are wonderful in your saints, who are the source of all holiness, You gave us your divine command: Be holy for I am Holy. You poured the Spirit of Holiness in our hearts. You made us temples for your glory. We pray You, by your mercy, to make us faithful to that Life-giving Spirit. Enlighten our minds so that we may understand your Plan of Salvation and please You by doing your will all our life.
For You are the wellspring of all holiness, and to You we render glory, thanksgiving and worship, Father, Son and Holy spirit, now and always and forever and ever.

صلاة الأنديفونة:

O Christ God, your church clothed with the blood of Your martyrs all over the world, as with purple and fine linen, cries out to You: send Your mercy upon Your people, grant peace to Your fold and extend Your great compassion upon our souls.

لنهيئ اليومَ القلوبَ، يا مؤمنين، كآنيةٍ نقية، لنقبلَ بضميرٍ نقيّ ٍ وليمةَ الربّ. مقدّمينَ تسبيحاً لتقدمةِ العيد.

Epistle: Heb 11:33-12:2 - 1st Sunday after Pentecost

Awesome in His saints is God, the God of Israel.
Stichon: In the churches, bless God, the Lord out of Israel’s wellspring.
Reading from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Hebrews
BRETHREN, all of the saints by faith conquered kingdoms, wrought justice, obtained the fulfillment of promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, recovered strength from weakness, became valiant in battle, routed foreign armies. Women had their dead returned to them through resurrection. Others were tortured, refusing to yield for their release, in order to obtain a better resurrection. Others again suffered mockery and beatings, even chains and jailings. They were stoned, they were cut to pieces, they were put to the test, they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, anguished, afflicted (of whom the world was not worthy) wandering in deserts, mountains, caverns and holes in the ground.
And all of these, in spite of the positive witnessing of faith, failed to receive what was promised, for God was keeping something better in store for us, so that they were not to reach their final perfection without us.
(12: 1) And so, having such a cloud of witnesses over us, let us get rid of every burden, and of the sin entangling us, and run with endurance to the fight proposed to us, contemplating the author and final end of faith, Jesus.

The just cried out, and the Lord heard them, and He delivered them from all their trials.

يا إِخوة، إِن القديسينَ جميعاً بالإِيمانِ قد قهَرُوا المَمالكَ وعَمِلوا البرَّ، ونالُوا الموعدَ وسَدَّوا أَفواهَ الأُسود، وأَطفأُوا قُوَّهَ النَّارَ، ونَجَوا مِن حَدِ السَّيف، وتَقَوَّوا مِن ضُعفٍ، وصارُوا أَشِدَّاءَ في القِتالِ وكَسرُوا مُعَسكراتِ الأَجانِب. واستَرجَعَت نساءٌ أَمواَتهَّ بالقياَمة. وآخرونَ قد عُذّبُوا بتَوتيرِ الأَعضاء والضَّرب، وَلمْ يقَبَلُوا النَّجاةَ ليَحصُلوا على قيامَةٍ أَفضَل. وآخرونَ قد ذاقَوا الهُزْءَ والسِياطَ والقُيُودَ أَيضاً والسّجِن. رُجِمُوا، نُشرُوا، أمتُحنُوا، ماتوا بحَدّ ِالسَّيف، ساحُوا في جُلودِ الغَنَمِ والمَعْزٍ، مُعوِزينَ، مُضايَقينَ، مَجهُودين. ولَم يكُن العاَلمُ مُستحقّاً لَهُم، تائهينَ في البرارِيِّ والجِبالِ والَمغاوِرِ وكُهوفِ الأَرض. فهؤُلاءِ كلُهُمُ المشهُودُ لهُم بالأيمانِ لم يَنالُوا اَلموعِد، لأَنَّ اللهَ قد سَبَقَ فَنَظَرَ لنا شَيئاً أَفضَل، لكَي لا يُكمَلوا بمَعزلٍ عنَّا. فلذلك نحن أَيضاً إِذ يُحدِقُ بنا مثلُ هذا السحابِ من الشهود، فلنُلقِ عنَّا كلَّ ثِقلٍ والخطيئةَ المحيطةَ بنا بسهولة، ولنسعَ بصبرٍ في الميدان الموضوعِ أَمامَنا، جاعلينَ نظَرنا الى يسوعَ مُبدئِ الايمانِ ومُكِمّله

الصدّيقونَ صرخوا والربُّ استمعَ لهم، ومن جميعِ مضايقهم نجَّاهم
كثيرةٌ مضايقُ الصدّيقين، ومن جميعها يُنَجّيهم الربّ.

Gospel: Mt 10:32-38 & 19:27-30 - 1st Sunday after Pentecost

The Lord said to His disciples, “Everyone who acknowledges Me before men, I also will acknowledge before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I in turn will disown before My Father in heaven. Anyone who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and anyone who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me; and anyone does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.” Then Peter addressed him saying, “Behold, we have left all and followed You; what then shall we have?” And Jesus said to them, “Amen I say to you that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man shall sit on the throne of His glory, shall also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting. But many who are first now will be last, and many who are last now will be first.”

قال الربُّ لتلاميذِه: كلُّ مَن يَعتَرِفَ بي قُدامَ الناس، أعترِفُ أَنا أَيضاً به قدامَ أَبي الذي في السَّماوات. ومَن يُنكِرُني قُدامَ الناس، أُنكِرهُ أَنا أَيضاً قُدامَ أَبي الذي في السَّماوات. لا تظُنُّوا أَني جِئتُ لأُلقِيَ على الأَرضِ سَلاماً. لم آتِ لأُلقِيَ سلاماً بَل سيفاً. لقد جِئتُ لأُفرّقَ الانسان عن أَبيه، والأبنة عن أُمِها، والكَنَّةَ عن حَماتِها. وأَعداءُ الإِنسانِ أَهلُ بَيتِه. مَن أَحبَّ أَباً أَو أمَّاً أََكثرََ منّي فلا يَستحِقُّني، ومَنْ أَحبَّ ابناً أَو بِنتاً أَكثرََ منّي فلا يَستحقُّني. ومَن لا يأْخُذْ صليبَه ويَتبَعنْي فلا يَستحِقُّني. فأَجابَ بُطرُسُ وقالَ لهُ: ها نَحنُ قد ترَكْنا كلَّ شيءٍ وتَبِعَناك، فما عَسى اذاً يكونَ لنا؟ فقالَ له يسوع: الحقَّ أَقولُ لكم، أَنتُمُ الذين تبعْتُموني في عَهدِ التجديد، متى جَلَسَ ابنُ الإِنسانِ على عَرشِ مَجدِه، تَجلِسونَ َ أَنتم أَيضاً على اثنَيْ عشَرَ عَرشاً، وتَدينون أَسباط إِسرائيلَ الأثنَي عشَر. وكلُّ مَن تركَ بُيوتاً، أَو إِخوةً، أَو أَخواتٍ ٍ، أَو أَباً، أَو أَماً، أَو امرَأَةً، أَو بَنين، أَو حُقولاً مِنْ أَجلِ اسمي، يأَخُذُ مِئةَ ضِعف، ويَرِثُُ الحياةَ َ الأَبديَّة. وكَثيرون أَوَّلون يَكونون آخِرين، وأخِرونَ يكونونَ أَوَّلِين.
