First the natural, then the spiritual. . .

The enemy has come in like a flood in our nation. Many are being destroyed or caught up in the waters of greed, self-gratification, idolatry, fear, and even slumber and complacency. Many are trapped in the silt of deception. We cannot put our trust in the things of this world. They can be gone in an instant.

Do not be swept away by fear. Do not be lulled to sleep by the lie that there is nothing you can do. If our “house” (ourselves) is built on anything other than Jesus Christ, the solid rock, we will sink. “Unless the Lord builds the house, we labor vain who build it.” How is your “house” doing? Your house was meant for prayer. Our fight is on our knees. In these tumultuous times, our house must also be a witness of the righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. We need fresh oil.

Do not be deceived by thinking a war is coming. We are in a war now! It’s not going to happen, it is happening and it’s been going on since creation. But, our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with principalities and powers of darkness. We have been given armor for this battle – it’s Jesus. He is our righteousness, our truth, our salvation, our peace, our sword and shield. He gives us His Holy Spirit to live within our “house” and He is providing everything we need to overcome this darkness. In addition to that, we have been given authority over the enemy. Have you taken that authority recently? Whose voice are you listening to?

The greatest spiritual warfare is love. You were created in the image of God, so you are love. Remember Luke 6:27, “Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.” You may want to ask the Lord something like this throughout the day: “Help me to receive your love and give it away to the next person I meet.”

Live simply. Cast off limiting beliefs about our God. Get quiet so the Holy Spirit can speak to you. He has strategic plans just for your participation in this war.

Let God arise and his enemies be scattered.

Last change to register for 10-week prayer ministry training (Elijah House). It is online and video access starts on Monday, Sept. 23. First small group will be Monday, Sept. 30 from 7 - 9:30.

If you have already taken EH201, you may take this as a refresher and audit this class. Those auditing will meet on Wednesdays beginning, October 2.

The cost for a first-time student is $649, and for auditing, it is $150. Those auditing will get to practice prayer ministry as well as get more healing for themselves. This is an amazing opportunity.

In my coaching, I help people see the truth, experience the truth, and live the truth.

Today, we celebrate Independence Day, the day our founding fathers declared independence from England. The negative fruit of that is that we live under the influence of a spirit of independence in this nation. How is that working for us?

To add to that, we may have made a vow when we were young due to hurt that "I won't need anybody", or "I'll make it on my own." Put these two things together, and we end up with a lot of people we now label as narcissists. That makes me cringe.

Calling someone that because of what they do is a judgment. When we judge, according to Matthew 7:1-2, we can end up doing the very same thing. People who are living self-focused are not this way by design, they are living that way for a variety of reasons - mostly do to hurt and a need to self-protect. Their hearts are probably hard due to unforgiveness. Many have even declared they don't need God either.

We were not made to be alone, or to live in our own little world. We were created by God to live in community. Though we get wounded in relationships, we also get healed in relationships. Your purpose is to receive God's love and give it away today. Let's declare this day a day of INTERDEPENDENCE. We need each other.



I cringe when I hear someone called a narcissist. This results in the negative fruit of what we often today label narcissistic or self-centered behavior. I cringe when someone is labeled a narcissist because that is a judgment - condemning someone for what they do - and the danger is that we could end up being the same way. Their behavior may be self-centered, but that is not who they are.

Jesus created us for fellowship. We thrive in community. We are wounded in relationships, but we are also healed in relationships.
