Annunciation Philoptochos has been a partner of SEARCH Homeless Services since its inception in 1989. Today we went to SEARCH to help fill personalized backpacks for over 280 youngsters so that they will be ready for Back To School! Along with today’s volunteers we also donated over $1,000 for school supplies.

The Philoptochos of Annunciation Cathedral Houston thanks our parishioners for their contributions to our recent clothing/book drive to the Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire. With their help we were able to collect much needed items for the hospital. Many of the patients have very little to wear and our gifts have brought comfort to the patients during their hospital stay. In addition, the books and magazines bring an escape and distraction to the patients during their time at the hospital. Thank you for your support and kindness to the book/clothing drive. L

450 books
73 magazines
42 men’s t-shirts
2 men’s track pants
13 pair of men’s shoes

18 women’s t-shirts
27 bras
12 pair of women’s shoes

Annunciation Cathedral Philoptochos members visited and toured the SEARCH Homeless Services new Houston facility. Our chapter and cathedral have been partners since SEARCH’s inception in 1989, providing volunteers, food and funds for over 37 years.
