Building Bridges. Breaking Bread. Strengthening Community.

Bering Church had the privilege of hosting a beautiful clergy brunch in partnership with Bridges⁠, bringing together faith leaders from different traditions to share a meal, meaningful conversations, and a common purpose: building understanding, fostering respect, and strengthening the bonds within our Houston community.

At Bering, we believe that while our faith traditions may differ, our commitment to love, compassion, and serving our neighbors can bring us together. Sometimes, building bridges begins with something as simple as sharing a table.

A heartfelt thank you to Bridges and every clergy member who joined us! Your presence, openness, and willingness to connect remind us that unity doesn’t require uniformity, it begins with the love

Yesterday, Elder Calvin Nelson Rhue helped us kick off our More Than Enough Stewardship Campaign, reminding us that stewardship is about more than financial giving. It’s a lifestyle rooted in faith, gratitude, service, and generosity.

At Bering Church, we believe everything God has entrusted to us ,our time, talents, gifts, and resources ; is an opportunity to love, serve, and make a difference in the lives of others.

📖 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10

For over 175 years, Bering has been a place of hope, healing, belonging, and radical hospitality. And through our collective generosity, we continue that legacy for generations to come.

As we begin this campaign, we invite you to prayerfully consider how your gifts, your time, your talents, and your generosity can help sustain the ministries that make Bering a place where everyone belongs.

A reminder for today: You are beloved. Not because of what you do, what you accomplish, or how much you give,but simply because you are.

Wednesday evenings at Bering Church are about more than gathering. They’re about creating space to be reminded of God’s love, to grow in faith, and to find community right where we are.

Last night, we reflected on John 4:13–14, where Jesus speaks of living water that satisfies a thirst the world cannot. We also explored Psalm 12:5–7, a reminder that God hears the cries of those who are hurting and stands with the vulnerable.

Together, these scriptures remind us that God’s love sustains us, sees us, and never requires us to earn our worthiness.

And we left with two questions worth sitting with:

🌿 Is your cup feeling full today, or does it feel empty?

🌿 What’s one thing that makes it difficult for you to receive God’s love?

Whatever your answer, remember these words:

I am beloved.
God is present with me.
I am worthy of love.
I do not have to earn God’s love.
Even on the days I don’t feel it, I am still God’s beloved.

Our Clothes Exchange was about so much more than swapping clothes. It was about community, connection, sustainability, and making sure good things find a new home.

A HUGE thank you to for partnering with Bering Church and bringing such incredible energy, care, and community spirit into this collaboration. We’re grateful for the work you continue to do to create spaces where people can show up, share what they have, find what they need, and simply belong.

And to everyone who came through, donated, swapped, volunteered, connected, and supported you made the day what it was. 🫶🏾
