Your words are setting the direction for your life. What are you saying about yourself? You can’t speak defeat and have victory. The Scripture says you will eat the fruit of your words. You believe what you say about yourself more than what anyone else says. Don’t give negative thoughts life by speaking them out. You can do all things through Christ and you are strong in the Lord.

The apostle Paul went through a lot of bad breaks. In 2 Corinthians 12, it lists some of these difficulties. Five times he was beaten with rods. Once he was stoned. Three times he’d been shipwrecked. He was bitten by a poisonous snake. He’d faced angry mobs, fought off bandits, survived flooded rivers. He’d gone without food, proper clothing, sleepless nights. Nobody had more come against them than Paul. After being in prison for two years, he was brought before King Agrippa for his trial. When he stood up to give his defense, the first thing he said was, “I think myself happy.” You would think he would see himself as a victim, be bitter, angry, have a chip on his shoulder. But he shows us a secret of how to overcome all that. He said, “I think myself happy.”

People can love you and leave. If they walk away, they’re not a bad person. God shut the door. That season ended. But when it’s a Ruth, there’s nothing you can do to convince them to go. When you understand this, it takes the pressure off. You’re not frustrated over who left, bitter over this person who ignores you, striving to get this coworker to accept you. That’s laboring in vain. Let God bring your relationships. Trust Him with your open and closed doors. If someone leaves, do like Naomi, kiss them goodbye. Don't become bitter, angry. “They never call me back. Why won’t they invite me to their group?” You’re not supposed to be there. You can’t open a door that God has closed. And you can’t close a door that God has opened. They can’t leave when God has purposed it. If they walked away, they were supposed to go. If they didn’t stay, you didn’t need them. Kiss them goodbye and move on.

You’re A Magnet For Blessings — Keep God First Place | Joel Osteen

If you’ll keep being your best, the right opportunities will find you. Prove to God you will be faithful right where you are. Do the right thing when it’s difficult, that’s when your character is being developed. One touch of God’s favor can take you further than you could go in your whole lifetime on your own.
