❤️🍏 When EMPTY SHELVES become FULL!!! 🍏❤️

In celebration of America250, The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is donating 250 truckloads of food to 250 food banks across the country. Several trucks have already been delivered in the greater Houston region this year, including the delivery last week to the Montgomery County Food Bank which will help provide more than 30,000 meals for Montgomery County neighbors. This food bank serves 96,000 families a month, helping provide nutritious food to hungry children, seniors, and families through a network of over 90 partner agencies.

Behind each meal provided by the Montgomery County Food Bank are volunteers and community members who generously give their time and talents to bless others. Their service reflects the spirit of loving thy neighbor and is such a meaningful way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday!

As the skies darken on this rainy Temple Tuesday, remember our Father in Heaven is our constant source of shelter from life’s storms. In His Holy House, we set aside our own storms and cares for a time. Maybe we’ll even see a rainbow when we leave, literally (see video) and figuratively!

President Thomas S. Monson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said “As we enter through the doors of the temple, we leave behind us the distractions and confusion of the world. Inside this sacred sanctuary, we find beauty and order. There is rest for our souls and a respite from the cares of our lives” (“Blessings of the Temple”, April 2015).

Montgomery County Food Bank received an incredible donation yesterday and it's one for the history books.

As part of an America250 service initiative with The Church of Jesus Christ in Greater Houston, Montgomery County Food Bank was selected as one of just 250 food banks across the country to receive a JustServe Greater Houston truckload of donated food, which will provide more than 30,000 meals for Montgomery County neighbors.

A huge thank you to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and JustServe for selecting our Food Bank for this special honor, and an extra thank you to the volunteer group from the Church who joined us in the Produce Rescue Center yesterday to pack and prepare even more meals.

It's a privilege to serve alongside partners who believe the best way to celebrate America is by feeding her people 🇺🇸

“Every time you worthily serve and worship in the temple, you leave armed with God’s power and with His angels having “charge over” you” (Spiritual Treasures, Pres. Russell M. Nelson, October, 2019). On this beautiful Temple Tuesday, we encourage you to reflect on the service you have given in the temple. Take notice of how the Lord has blessed you, or your family, with His power and angels. Truly, there is such mighty power in the House of the Lord.
