I enjoyed my visit with St. John's United Methodist Church as a filled in for their pastor, Dan Walker. We talked a little bit about Job and how he felt God had left him. His friends came and were not too kind as they blamed him for all his problems. As disciples of Christ we are called to minister to one another in love, even in the lowest of times - this is what loving one another is all about.

Jean Wood Reames, of Amelia, VA, passed from this earth to be with the Lord on March 18, 2021 at the age of 95. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Anna Belle Wood; her husband, Willfred T. Reames, Jr.; and four siblings, Milton Wood, Kathleen Baldwin, Eloise Tucker, and Marjorie Snapp. She is survived by her sons W. T. Reames, III (Carla) and Ronald W. Reames (Nancy). Jean leaves behind six grandsons: Will (Katie), Andrew (Becky), Stephen (Hannah), Matthew, Wes (Rebecca), Austin (Caroline); her namesake granddaughter, Amy Jean (John); ten great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Jean was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church where she served in many compacities over the years. In 1988, she retired from Maryland Virginia Milk Producers Southside Division as office manager.

Due to COVID restrictions and while using precautions, visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, throughout the day until 7 pm, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 3, in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, Amelia, VA, or to the Amelia County Emergency Squad. www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com
