After seeing the recent idea on a childrens ministry site, I Created a similar program to meet a need we are having and that is sporadic attendance. The Bible Buddies campaign. Children will receive a Bible Buddy, book and box when they attend 4 Sunday in a row. Once they “adopt” their Buddy they become a member of the “family”. Once in the family, they and their Buddy will get to attend Bible Buddy parties, earn rewards for reading Bible stories to their buddies AND can earn more Buddies for inviting friends. For every six friends they earn a Bible Buddy friend. (They cost $6 each so I figure each friend is definitely worth $1 of my budget!).
I announced the Bible Buddy program last week and every one of those kids were back this week and I gained 16 more kids! The excitement was palpable in the room!! I have a brochure for first time kids explaining the program in hopes the kids beg their parent to come back! This will be an ongoing program.
For those wondering, if the parents come from a divorced home and with the opposite parent every other week, the children can earn buddies when they come four weeks, they don’t have to be consecutive. I also have a “sick pass” since we are still plagued with covid and flu season. They can miss if a parent fills out a pass and then they start up their four weeks from where they left off. So if they miss week three, they pick up on week three when they return and do not have to start over.

This fell at a perfect time as we are in the middle of a Safari themed curriculum.

So this little Amazon purchase I made two years ago has been the best dollars spent. I can come up with dozens of games to play with them and have! I originally bought them to create a giant twister when my church kids were into playing that. I figured out that these were the way to go. Next I used them as boundaries for games. Now I have dozens of games in my arsenal to play on a moments notice. Making a video today about all the games we play and will post. You are about to be amazed at how these little dots can fill time in a flash!! Before I even make the video, if you have a multi purpose room with industrial type carpet, look up these bad boys on Amazon, buy at least four sets and I’ll share how to use them for tons of fun!

Sometimes you just need to change it up a bit! That's what our ministry did this year. Instead of our traditional VBS lasting a week we decided to use the budget for four Family Nights! The first was a HUGE Success. It was a break for our ministry team and provides multi-generational community building! Do you change it up from time to time? Let us know how!

June 9 – Super Sunday Fun Night! All things Sports!
5:00 - Dinner together.
5:45 - 6:15. Opening Rally
6:30 - 8:00. All things Sports.
Sand Volleyball, basketball, soccer, archery tag, Frisbee Golf, flag football, Corn Hole, yard games,
organized group games, GaGAball, Café and Video Games, and our Preschool play Zone.

June 16 - Father’s Day Fun
5:00 – Supper grab and go
5-8:00pm - Family games and amazing inflatables for the entire family.
Mega Meltdown, Vortex, Archery Tag, inflatable obstacle Course. Frisbee Golf, Octaball.
Preschool play.
8:00pm - Prayer of blessing over our Fathers and Boys.

June 23 - Sundae Sunday Fun day
5:00 - All Church Carry in Supper and Sundae Bar!
5:45 - 6:30 Family Worship Night. Kids talent show!
6:30 - 8:00pm - Sand Volleyball, basketball, soccer, Frisbee Golf, flag football, Corn Hole, yard games, organized group games, Café and Video Games, and our Preschool play Zone.

June 30 - Wacky 💦 Water Night!
5:00 - 8:00pm. All things water. Two giant inflatable water slides, slip and slide,
balloon volleyball, water balloon games. Preschool splash zone.
Cook Out
8:00pm Child Baptism Service and celebration.
