Yesterday we took up a special offering for our building project, and we are thankful to share that over $10,600 was given!

This Sunday, September 6, we will receive a special offering for our building project.

Through the faithful giving of God’s people, He has provided what we need to raise the building. We are deeply grateful! Now we are looking ahead to the systems that will make the building usable, including fire protection, plumbing, electrical work, and heating. Together, these upcoming needs are estimated at $200,000.

Our church family has outgrown our current building, and we need more room for those who are already gathering with us and for others the Lord may bring in the days ahead. God has graciously opened the door for this new property and faithfully provided each step of the way.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD…” Psalm 127:3

One of the greatest reasons we are excited about our new church building is the next generation that will be taught, discipled, and encouraged to follow Christ within its walls.

The children of our church have been watching the progress from the beginning, and Lord willing, they’ll make a lot of memories serving the Lord here in the years ahead!

Tomorrow, Phase Two of laying the foundation begins! Please continue to pray with us as the work moves forward. If you would like to give toward the building project, every gift, big or small, helps us continue moving forward.

It is with saddened hearts, yet with the hope we have in Christ, that we share the passing of our dear sister in Christ, Rachel Nason, who went home to be with the Lord yesterday.

Rachel was a faithful member of our church family. She loved to sing, enjoyed baking for others, and visiting the sick and elderly. Her servant’s heart and love for the Lord were evident in the way she cared for those around her. She will be greatly missed.

While our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice in the sure hope of the gospel, knowing that she is now in the presence of Jesus Christ her Savior.

Rachel’s funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Shiretown Baptist Church. All who knew her are welcome to attend as we gather to remember her life and give thanks for God’s grace.

Today was a sweet reminder of how God provides for His work. We received two very different gifts for our church building project in the mail.

One was a handwritten note from a missionary family who recently visited our church. They shared that their children had drawn pictures and sold them, then gave the $7 they earned toward our building fund.

The other was a $50,000 grant from a businessman who shares our desire to see the Lord’s work move forward.

It was a powerful reminder that God uses both the big gifts and the small gifts to accomplish His purposes.

While the amounts couldn’t have been more different, both were given with hearts that wanted to make an eternal difference.

We are thankful for every person who has prayed, given, encouraged us, and who will give in the days ahead. Every gift, big or small, plays a part in advancing God’s work. 🙌

Church at the Lake is Tomorrow!

Join us tomorrow afternoon for a special time of fellowship and worship at Judy’s house as we gather for Church at the Lake.

Sunday School and the morning worship service will be held at their normal times. There will be no evening service at the church, as our lake service will take its place.
