John Dixon, organ composer, teacher, and performer, is on a quest to play a concert in all 50 states by his 70th birthday, and you can be a part of it! His works include concert and orchestral arrangements, church hymns, cantatas, and anthems. Make plans now for an enjoyable evening here at First Presbyterian Church this Friday, September 4. The recital starts at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for an evening of special music.

John Dixon was born in London, England, and was classically trained in piano and organ. During his school years he was active in music in the Anglican church and was a founding member of The Southend Boys Choir, one of Britain's foremost youth choirs. He earned degrees from The Queen's College, Oxford University, and Harvard Business School. His composing has flourished since moving to America in 1988, largely through his involvement in the music ministry at Providence Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, where he is currently organist and composer‑in‑residence. He has written hundreds of pieces for church and secular use.

This is an experience you won't want to miss!!

This past Wednesday, laughter and friendly chatter filled the room as everyone piled their plates with finger foods and bowls high with scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, and sprinkles before settling in with their bingo cards. The atmosphere shifted from casual socializing to playful competition, with a tense silence falling over the group as players listened intently for that one final number. The energy peaked with explosive shouts of “Bingo!” and cheers for the winners, leaving everyone with full bellies, fun prizes, and wonderful memories of a sweet night out.
