Jesus spoke of the coming kingdom, and the Old and New Testaments reveal God's enduring plan to reestablish His reign on Earth.

Prayer isn’t another religious obligation to add to your day. It’s connection with the One who gives us life.

We don’t pray more so we can prove something to God. We pray because we need Him.

In the busy moments, pray.
In the uncertain moments, pray.
When you’re grateful, pray.
When you don’t know what to do next, pray.

Stay connected to the Source. His presence is not just where we begin, it’s where we learn to live.

“Pray without ceasing” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Chaos doesn’t intimidate God.

Whatever feels unsettled, uncertain, or out of order in your life, you don’t have to be the one who holds it all together.

Bring it under the rule and reign of Jesus. Trust the King with what you cannot control.

His Kingdom still brings order to chaos.

“Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” - Matthew 6:10

Today, we’re grateful for the work God has placed before us, and for the people who faithfully show up each day to serve their families, their communities, and one another.

Scripture reminds us that even our everyday work can become an act of worship when it’s done for the Lord.

“Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people.” - Colossians 3:23

So today, take time to rest, enjoy the people around you, and thank God for His provision. And as a new week begins, remember: wherever God has placed you, your faithfulness matters.

Happy Labor Day from Rock Creek Family Church! 💙

How can a holy God invite ordinary people to draw near?

The sun gives us an interesting picture. It is unique, powerful, and life-giving, yet its very power makes approaching it dangerous.

God’s holiness is infinitely greater and yet the story of scripture is the story of a holy God making a way for His people to come near.

Through Jesus, that way has been opened. 🙌
What an incredible God we get to worship.

Tomorrow, we’ll gather together to seek Him, worship Him, and continue learning what it means to walk with Him.

We’d love for you to join us!

When you hear the word “holiness,” what comes to mind?

Rules? Perfection? Distance from God?

Or do you think about the beauty, goodness, and character of who He is?

This week we’ve been reminded that holiness isn’t simply something God expects from us, it begins with who He is.

So we’d love to hear from you:

What does the holiness of God mean to you?

The more we see God for who He really is, the more everything else begins to find its proper place.

He is greater than what competes for our attention.
Greater than what we put our trust in.
Greater than anything we could ever substitute for Him.

There is no one like our God.

When Moses asked God to show him His glory, God revealed something we can’t afford to miss.

Merciful.
Gracious.
Slow to anger.
Abounding in steadfast love.
Faithful.

We often look for God’s glory in the spectacular, but God revealed His glory through His character.

And the closer we get to Him, the more His character should be reflected through us.

“The LORD is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth.” - Exodus 34:6

God has called us to live differently, but never independently from Him.

Biblical holiness isn’t about separating ourselves from everyone and everything so we can prove how holy we are. It’s a life that has been set apart in Him.

We stay close to Jesus. We allow His presence to shape us. His character begins to change ours. And the difference people see in our lives becomes a reflection of the One we’re walking with.

We aren’t called to be set apart from God.

We’re called to be set apart in Him.

“…but as the one who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct.” - 1 Peter 1:15
