🌿🦋 Rainforest Falls VBS - Day 3! 🦋🌿

What an incredible day of adventure, laughter, worship, and discovery at Rainforest Falls VBS!

Today our explorers continued learning about the amazing nature of God through hands-on activities, Bible adventures, games, crafts, and worship. From crawling through colorful rainforest tunnels and making animal masks to praying together and exploring God’s Word, every corner of our CLC was filled with joy and excitement.

One of the most beautiful sights of the day was watching our children pause in the middle of all the fun to pray. ❤️ Seeing little hands folded and hearts turned toward God reminds us why VBS matters so much.

We are also incredibly grateful for our amazing youth leaders and volunteers who have poured their hearts into making this week unforgettable. Their energy, kindness, and servant hearts help bring God’s love to life for every child who walks through our doors.

Thank you to all the families who have entrusted us with your children this week. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of our Rainforest Falls adventure!

🌿🌧️ Rainforest Falls VBS is off to an amazing start at First United Methodist Church Hot Springs! 🌧️🌿

Over the first two days of VBS, our children have been discovering the wonder of who God is through exciting Bible adventures, hands-on activities, music, science, and lots of fun!

🌎 Day 1: God Is Our Creator
Our Bible Point focused on how God created the world and everything in it. Together we learned:

“Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom.” — Psalm 103:22

The excitement reached a new level during our Canopy Closing when the kids watched a Creation Catapult and celebrated the incredible world God made!

🦋 Day 2: God Knows Everything
Today we explored Psalm 139 and learned that God knows us completely and loves us deeply.

“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.” — Psalm 139:1

The children heard about David’s praises to God and discovered how nothing is hidden from our all-knowing God. During Canopy Closing, they watched a hidden message appear right before their eyes! In Rooted Bible Adventures, they used all five senses to experience David’s words from Psalm 139 in a memorable and meaningful way.

We are so thankful for our amazing volunteers, leaders, and families who are making Rainforest Falls such a special week. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of VBS!

❤️ Pastor Heather and members of the Outreach Committee had the opportunity to tour the Community Resource Center on Tuesday, June 9. We were inspired by the incredible work being done to serve individuals and families throughout our community.

🤝 The Community Resource Center is a vital ministry in Hot Springs, connecting people with resources, support, and hope when they need it most. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about their mission and how our church can partner with and support their efforts.

📣 Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we share more information with the congregation about ways we can help make a difference through this important ministry.

✝️ Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ in our community, sharing God’s love through service, compassion, and care for our neighbors.

💙 Father’s Day Mission 💙

As we celebrate the fathers and father figures who have impacted our lives, we also have an opportunity to care for men in our community who are facing difficult circumstances.

Now through Father’s Day, First United Methodist Church is collecting:

📏 Sizes Large and Up

All donations will benefit the Community Resource Center and help provide essential items to those in need.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ through your generosity. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.

📍 Donations may be dropped off at the church office or designated collection area.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:40 💙

But wisdom is shown to be right by its results. Matthew 11:19c (NLT)

Jesus can get in a mighty hook sometimes. He leads us along in his storytelling as a shepherd leads his or her hungry sheep: but, just as we think we know where we are going, Jesus makes an abrupt turn and we end up in a completely different place. Why here? We might ask. Why not? Jesus seems to reply.

But isn’t such an indication of this life we endeavor to traverse? All the signposts seem to lead us in a certain direction, but when we arrive where we think we want to go there’s actually somewhere else that calls us with a different intensity and desire. Jesus tells the disciples of John the Baptist what they think they know may be only a part of what is actually true. Then he gifts them with this pearl, “Wisdom is shown to be right by its results.” words that probably sent them into a tail spin, and if we are honest, the tails are still spinning today!

How often do we think we are right and wise and then later, much later, we realize something different? Wisdom, true wisdom from God, is revealed in time. We don’t always see direct results, much like love. Love ages like fine wine. and its value also increasing over time.

My grandfather was a wise man. I didn’t see it at the time, just a kid with a kid’s developing mind and sense of self-worth. His words sounded silly to me, his stories from a day that was long gone. O, how I wish I could hear them again. I would hang on them and commit each to heart because the wisdom of his words has come to fruition.

Maybe time and wisdom are lifelong partners, holding hands through the roughest of seas and through the greenest pastures life offers. The results of choices we make and work we do will reflect our wisdom.

Let us pray for enough.

What a beautiful morning of worship on the water at Lake Hamilton! ☀️🌊🎶

Today our church family gathered at Arc Isle in Hot Springs for a very special outdoor worship service, and it was truly an incredible experience. Families joined us from the shoreline, while many others pulled up by boat to worship together on the lake. There is just something special about praising God surrounded by His beautiful creation. ❤️

Our praise and worship band did a phenomenal job leading worship, creating such a joyful and spirit-filled atmosphere for everyone gathered. From singing together by the water to watching children play with bubbles throughout the service, it was a morning full of joy, laughter, fellowship, and worship.

We were also honored to welcome Camp Tanako Director Matthew Gwinner and the Camp Tanako staff, who joined us for worship and invited all children and youth to experience camp this summer! 🏕️✨ Camp Tanako continues to impact lives and help young people grow in faith, friendships, and confidence, and we are so thankful for their ministry.

We loved seeing families, friends, neighbors, and visitors all connecting with one another and celebrating God together in such a unique setting. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special service possible!
