Pastor Lamar shared a story about a man who saw a snake on a path that turned out to be just a rope when light was shined on it.

How does fear make us see things that aren't real, and what are some fears that might keep us from drawing close to God?

Pastor Lamar used this illustration to show how fear can make us believe things that aren't true and cause us to react to situations that don't actually exist. He connected this to how our own sin and failures can make us afraid to encounter God.

‼️🌊 Grace on the Lake Update 🌊‼️

After carefully monitoring the weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Grace on the Lake scheduled for this Sunday, June 7th.

While we were looking forward to spending the afternoon together enjoying fellowship, food, music, swimming, games, and baptisms, the forecasted storms have led us to prioritize the safety of our church family and guests.

We appreciate everyone who signed up and everyone that was ready to volunteer and help prepare for the event. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Although we’re disappointed, we look forward to worshiping together and gathering for future events.

We can't wait to see you at church in the morning!

We are excited about Grace on the Lake this Sunday and are hopeful that we’ll be able to enjoy a wonderful afternoon together on Lake Hamilton!

At this time, the forecast is showing a strong chance of storms, so we are monitoring the weather closely. We plan to make a final decision regarding the event on Saturday.

Any updates will be shared here on Facebook and through email as soon as a decision is made.

God Is Looking At The Lamb, Not You

What does drawing near to God really look like when you're struggling with sin? 🙏

This Sunday, Pastor Lamar reminded us of a powerful truth: God isn't standing across a chasm from us, disappointed and distant. He's right beside us—His arm around us—because of what Jesus has done.

The snake on the path wasn't real. It was just a rope. But fear made it seem terrifying.

Sometimes our shame and failures feel the same way—they loom large and keep us from God's presence. But here's the good news: When God looks at us, He sees Jesus first, not our sin first.

The priest didn't examine the worshiper—he examined the lamb. And our Lamb is spotless. ✝️

So here's our question for you: What helps YOU draw near to God when you're feeling distant or struggling?

Is it worship music? Scripture? A walk in nature? Honest conversation with a friend?
